NBA '07 Hands On Impressions (PS3)

Kotaku has posted their hands on impressions of NBA '07.
"NBA 07 with its super high framerate and 1080p output, happens to be the slowest Playstation 3 game to actually start, at least from what I've seen.

But once you get into the game it runs silky smooth. I didn't notice any stutters, hang-ups or graphic glitches. The high-res, sweaty graphics are slick and smooth and lead to a bit of fun gameplay, but in the end I'm not sure if a basketball game is the best title on which to push the graphics envelope

The gameplay is solid, but nothing remarkable. People who have played with the franchise, or any basketball video game should be able to pick-up the game and get into the rhythm of things pretty quickly."

NBA 07 Loadtime and SixAxis Control Interface Movie Clip (PS3)

Kotaku has posted a movie clip showing off the SixAxis control interface in NBA 07.
"This briefish video shows you what the controller menu looks like and what you can do with the Playstation button on it. It also lets you see what the loadtime is for NBA 07."

How to Play Virtua Tennis 3 on the PS3

UK Resistance has the scoop.
"So now, instead of pressing a button to make the thing you want to happen happen immediately, you wave the controller to maybe make the thing you want to happen happen, or to perhaps make something else happen that you didn't want to happen at all. Thanks for ruining all our games with your stupid new idea for women and the elderly that everyone's copying, Nintendo!"

10Tacle Inks Ferrari Deal (PC)

Boomtown has the scoop.
"10Tacle Studios has signed a deal with Ferrari to create officially licensed games based on the famous auto brand.
Following the deal 10Tacle will work closely with the Italian supercar manufacture on several computer and console projects."

Tony Hawk's Project 8 Preview (360)

Got-Next has posted their preview of Tony Hawk's Project 8.
"Tony Hawk Project 8 still favors gamers with very quick reaction times. That is unless you slip into the menu and lower the speed of your skater. Iím unsure if this a demo-only feature or something the full game will contain. Lowering the skater speed from the default 10 to 5 created a much more enjoyable experience for this gamer, but your mileage (and preference) will vary."

Championship Manager 2007 Heads to 360

Eurogamer has the scoop.
"Eidos has announced that Championship Manager 2007 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and PSP in Q1 2007.

Developed once again by Gusto Games, CM 2007 for consoles will boast online multiplayer on Xbox Live and wireless matches on PSP.

360 owners will also be able to download new season data and challenges, and compare Manager Profiles with their fellow Championship Managers."

I'll be buying gas with my check card if that counts.

Did you guys read the little football story about the overly crazy commish canceling the season? Clearly, parents are trying too hard nowadays in sports when it comes to their kids.

It is absolutely rediculous how parents are nowadays. I mean, it's all about the dollars, IMHO. Parents think they are bringing up the next MJ, the next Manning, the next A-Rod and if things don't go the way they want it to, they go off on the deep end.

Like I said, IMHO, it's all about the money they see their kids possibly making, it's not about competition anymore, it seems.

yeah - parents have gone truly mad... helping my dad coach my brother in travel baseball for several years, it just amazes me the stuff that they do.. hey, how about SUPPORTING your kid???

Edit: not only parents either.. found this on foxsports...

When Charlotte Catholic's boys' soccer team got to Forestview High School in Gastonia on Saturday night for an N.C. 3A playoff game, the Cougars heard something over the public address system they never would've expected: A 90-second portion of a speech from Adolf Hitler, according to the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.

"We were warming up," said Catholic coach Gary Hoilett, "and all of us stopped and looked up at the booth. We were just real shocked. It was obviously a Hitler speech. The voice was coming across clearly. Everybody knew."

Forestview's players took the field after the speech ended.

But before the game, Hoilett said, some Forestview players were chanting something in German that means "On to victory," according to one of his players who speaks German. Hoilett, who is black, said that during the game some Forestview players directed racial epithets at his two black players.

"It was one of the worst things I've seen," Hoilett said of the speech and the racial epithets.
