I am stunned by how polished everything is. Best looking sports game I've seen. Stunned by the controls, and feel of the game, most impressive sports game strictly from the perspective of the shootout on the 360. Totally blown away and need for it to be the 12th, 13th, I need the damn game! It is great to see players fall if the goalie makes a save in front of them and they can't stop in time. Collision detection is phenomenal. Holy crap this is exciting since it is actually better (again strictly from the shootout standpoint) than I thought. If the rest of the game plays as well as the shootout we are going to be very lucky this year.

EDIT: The goalies are so well done, with the collision detection and how they move. I took a slapper from just inside the circle and Cam Ward went down to make the save but it went in between his left arm but actually knicked his stick as he was moving it and the way it deflected of the stick over the net was so sweet. Other than a few minor instances of clipping of the skates and stick that is only noticable in the replays this game it is a reallu solid looking game.

I'm stuck at work and will not be able to D/L it until tonight. How is using the right stick for puck control (shots)? Is it too awkward at first, or does it actually feel intuitive?

It feels very intuitive, the only awkward thing for me so far has been deking the puck from side to side quickly as my motions on the right stick are not necessarily precise enough and I ed up shooting the puck instead of dragging it accross, but I've tried taking it a little slow and it has helped. But overall the controls are extrmely nice and suit this shootout mode very well. I think the biggest thing is that you will be impressed when you play. The players also have a noticably weightier feel and move slower than any other hockey game in the past but as a hockey enthusiast it just feels right. I can really feel the difference skating with Hemsky and Stoll.

By the way, in the demo you have access to home and away jerseys for both teams as well as Edmonton's alternate and the instant replay mode is also available.

Wow. I'm speechless. The graphics, player animations, and goalie animations put 2k to shame. I'm digging the new puck handling system, it's much more realistic than 2k's.

I came in on Roloson with Staal, deked forehand, then came back to my backhand. Roloson came out to challenge it, I put the puck between his pads. As he slid back towards the goalline, you could see the puck start to trickle through. He reaches back to grab it, but just a second too late.

I've said all along that my main concern is the AI with 10 skaters on the ice, and it still is. However, this demo definitely has me believing EA might be able to pull it off.

I love the weight to the players. It takes a couple seconds to get to full speed, like it should. Watching your player hold on to the puck too long, then trip over the goalie into the boards is a thing of beauty.

Oh, it's only shootout?

Yes, but at least you can start it over without having to exit the game.

No multiplayer.

Totally agree with Sullys comments, itīs very promising, but the AI player in a full game is still my concern. If itīs going to be good or not, afterall thatīs been EAs problem these last years. Another thing that bothers me some, is that the animation isnīt as fluid in transitions as I had hoped. But very promising.

You can play player vs player , just plug in another controller and go to choose sides
