NHL 07 Interview (Multi)

Yahoo! Video Games have posted an interview with David Littman, Associate Producer of NHL 07.
Yahoo! Video Games: "What is the biggest gameplay innovation in this year's game?"
David Littman: "Definitely the Skill Stick Revolution. These controls are something that will change the way hockey games are played. We didn't make the change just for the sake of change. We made it to give people the same skating and stick control that an NHL player has. Think of the left analog as your skates and the right as your hockey stick -- tap it forward to shoot, pull it back to wind up, move it side to side to deke. If you have ever played hockey in real life, this is the closest thing to that experience without actually lacing up the skates. It allows for a player to hold the puck to the outside while driving wide past a defenseman, fake a slapshot and walk around a defender trying to block the shot, or to deke the goalie and let the puck roll off the end of the blade into the net."

Burnout 5 Interview (Multi)

Eurogamer has posted an interview with Alex Ward, as they talk about Burnout 5.
Eurogamer: "Burnout has always featured incredible damage modelling. With the power of next gen machines at your disposal, how much better can it get?"
Alex Ward: "A lot better. We can now simulate the energy traveling through a vehicle at the point of impact. For us, it's about spectacular car crashes."

Xboxyde Update (360)

Xboxyde has posted the following:
  • Forza Motorsport 2 Trailer
"Forza Motorsport 2 is the premier racing simulator for the Xbox 360 console. We created this video as a way to illustrate the physics at work in our simulation engine. Specifically, at key points in the video, we change to a multi-pane view with the racing action in one pane and a physics highlight in the other. In this walkthrough, Iíll go into more detail about what youíre seeing."
  • Test Drive Unlimited Screenshots
"Atari seems to finally be announcing the big gun manufacturers in Test Drive Unlimited, today presenting Audi and McLaren F1 in the game with these two trailers. It's a totally different feeling when you see the city Audi car rolling down on the streets, compared to the usual sport cars."

Gran Turismo 4: Mobile Edition Delayed Indefinitely

PSP Fanboy has the scoop.
"There may no other racing franchise to see more delays than Gran Turismo. And now it's portable edition Gran Turismo 4: Mobile Edition is getting in on the action or lack thereof.

Famitsu confirmed the news with the franchise developers Polyphony Digital that the racing sim has been delayed indefinitely."

V8 Supercars 3 Challenge Coming to PSP

3D Avenue has the scoop.
"Set to launch exclusively in PAL territories, V8 Supercars 3 Challenge is being designed from the ground up for PSP, featuring officially licensed racecars, world-famous tracks and a new, progressive central game mode Ė the World Challenge."

Ridge Racer 7 Images (PS3)

Playsyde has posted some images from Ridge Racer 7.
"As expected Namco allowed a few big japanese gaming sites to put online a few images of Ridge Racer 7. Here are the images from the ever excellent gamewatch, and they are a better way to see the graphical evolution compared to RR6 than the scans. I can't say I'm totally impressed, but maybe it's the Ridge Racer art style."

Question of the Day

It's Friday, what are your plans this weekend?

Well, it looks like it's going to rain all weekend for the most part, so I won't be doing anything outside, probably just cleaning up the basement. You know, when you clean the house, you really don't clean it, you just move stuff from one location to the other, well... That other location, in my house, is the basement, and it is a complete zoo. I need to clean it up, so I'm sure it will take up most of my time all weekend. That and NBA 2K7.

QOTD: Plans for the weekend, building a privacy fence around my yard. I just had the lumber delivered yesterday, man that a lot of wood! I imagine it will take us the whole 3 day weekend since we have about 400 feet of fence to put up. Saturday night I do plan on stopping early enough to get cleaned up to watch the Auburn game on ESPN2.
