Konami Says No Soccer Exclusives For MS

Kotaku has the scoop.
"To say that I don't care for soccer would be an understatement. Seeing screenshots of FIFA makes me sleepy. Even hearing the words Winning Eleven makes me nod off quicker than a good armful of heroin, but apparently Europeans like this sport and like playing "footie" on their consoles."

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 Gameplay Movie Clip (360)

Xboxyde has posted a gameplay movie clip from WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007.
"Here is a short funny video of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007, not really interesting but still amusing to watch (nobody seemed to know how to play it properly). Kill the referee !!"

Tony Hawk's Project 8 Gameplay Movie Clips (PS3, 360)

Playsyde and Xboxyde have both posted gameplay movie clips from Tony Hawk's Project 8.
"Here is a quick gameplay clip of Tony Hawk's Project 8, shot in an Activision presentation. You can discover the focus mode, wich allows to do some cool tricks with your feet in slow motion, using the two analog sticks."

Question of the Day

Would you like to see a change with NFL preseason football?

I'd much rather see the NFL go with 2 preaseason games and extend the regular season to 18 games.

I was just thinking that 2 pre and 18 regs would work just fine. If someone gets hurt, they need to get hurt during the regular season when it counts. Also, kind of interesting with the soccer from Konami. Playing with words.......

I like the 2-18 idea.

QOTD: I do like the idea of the 2 and 18, but what happens with records? Every rushing and TD record is gone, all normal measures of excellence are changed. Are we sure we want to do this? I say we leave it to individual teams to schedual their preseason games. That way a team can play as few or as many games as they want. And make them at practice facilities, so that there is not huge incentive for owners to push for more games.

QOTD: I say just have 3 preseason games and keep the 16 regular season games. The 4th game of the preseason is meaningless because the starters hardly play.

I just say cut the preseason in half. Two preseason games, then get the real games (16) started.

For the QOTD on pre-season games... I really don't care how many pre-season games the NFL thinks it needs to get their players ready for the season. What I object to is how those games are foisted onto us as if they really matter. The NFL is the only sport that props up their practice games, charges the fans up the whaazoo, and has prime time tv coverage to boot. If the NFL wants to have 2 games, or 8 games, to me it doesn't matter. They just shouldn't be selling them to us like they mean more than they actually do.

Football is a tough sport. Players get hurt in pre-season, the 1st game of the season, the off-season... I never want to see players get hurt at any time, in any game. But it happens. The reason why people are not feeling the pre-season games is because they see their stars get hurt in meaningless scrimmages. Maybe, just maybe if the games were not televised and made to look like a regular season game, fans might not be so upset when their stars go down. Players get hurt in practice all the time. I don't hear too many people calling for fewer practices... except for maybe the players :-)

Pre-season football games are just practice games. I pay no attention to them. Wake me when the REAL season starts.
