NBA Live 07 Community Day Recap & Report

Our friends over at NBA Live Series Center have posted their NBA Live 07 Community Day Recap & Report.
"For those who are unaware, I attended EA Sports' NBA Live 07 Community Day held at EA Canada's studios in Vancouver where I had an opportunity to meet members of the production team and road test NBA Live 07 on Current Gen, Next Gen and PSP. It's my pleasure to bring back some info on this year's game as well as some shots of the game and a couple of other photos from the event."

More NBA Live 07 Community Day Impressions

Check out these two NBA Live 07 Community Day impressions, over at the official NBA Live 07 Forums. Make sure you scroll down, they are in the middle of the page.
  • Impressions from clueminati017
"The lock down defense is now available on the game where it’s been elevated from March Madness 06 to NBA Live 07. There’s no more “I win…” style of game play with the offensive play maker where it’s actually difficult to play more now, and plus you can actually see the bodies colliding in either on pressure defense or in mid- air. The cross-over control is now simple to use especially they added the hesitation move more dangerous now for fast break situations, and which the triple-threat (jab step) is useful if you’re trying to either break down the defender or shoot over him."
  • Impressions from DaKiNgRoUnDHeRe4
"The foot planting technology is what excites me the most. The players actually have to plant their feet with every move they make. They also gain momentum which gives the players kind of a solid feel. So gone are the days of sliding all over the place and gone are the days of pushing the shot button from any angle and having your player fire up a shot with ease. The players actually gather themselves and “square up” to shoot a jumper. The same thing goes before they can go up for a dunk. The feet get planted the knees bend some and they spring up for the jam. They move laterally, diagonally, vertically and the feet plant with every movement. This will allow your player too really key in on match ups."

X360 Texas Hold 'em Free (360)

Boomtown has the scoop.
"Microsoft has announced the full version of Texas Hold 'em on Xbox Live Arcade will be free for the first 48 hours.
The game launches on Wednesday, August 23 at 0800 GMT. For 48 hours until 0800 GMT on Friday August 25 – as a special limited-time only promotion - gamers can download (and own) the game at no charge. After this period Texas Hold ‘em’ for will cost 800 Microsoft Points."

Eagle Eye Golf Preview (PS2)

Got-Next has posted their preview of Eagle Eye Golf.
"Another promising aspect of Eagle Eye Golf is the ability for virtual Jack Nicklauses to build their own links heaven. Tinkering around with the early course contruction tools show a surprising amount of depth and robustness that could allow for some extra replayability. There's all sorts of earth-moving/raising/leveling abilities, as well as creating water and sand traps to your heart's content. In addition, there seems to be no limit on setting the score requirements on each hole, so creating a nearly-impossible hole with a par value of, say, 25 isn't out of the question."

FIFA 07 Preview (PS2)

Fragland has posted their preview of FIFA 07.
"The pace of the game has been cranked up a bit, which is a definite improvement over the last few FIFAs. Some work has been done on balancing offence versus defense. Defenders have grown a bit smarter, which puts the gameplay emphasis on searching open space and giving clever passes. In theory, the goal keepers are now more intelligent. Playing the game, however, showed that keepers can still do incredibly stupid things, which resulted in some incredible goals (scoring from 30 meters/ 100 feet away occured on several occasions)."

Test Drive Unlimited Screenshots (360)

Xboxyde has posted some screenshots of Test Drive Unlimited.
"Atari is always here to announce a new car manufacturer for Test Drive Unlimited, and this time it's Maserati with the good old 3500 GT and the brand new and shiny MC12. Images inside, but also a new video showing the MC12 in action."

Boomtown Update (PSP, PC)

Boomtown has posted the following:
  • The Hustle (PSP)
"Both modes feature a number of trick shots and challenges, which allow players to earn prize money, face off against other players and buy new items such as clothes and cues at local shops. Players make their money gambling on their own matches, hustling, betting on shots (spot betting) and other pool matches. As players progress through the game and meet certain criteria, they’ll discover different gameplay modes and items."
  • SimBin tackles World Touring Cars (PC)
"RACE will feature all the cars, drivers and trackes from the 2006 WTCC. SimBin has been working closely with the race teams on the project and Eurosport to create a convincing spectacle based on the touring car championship. That means such circuits as Monza and Brands Hatch will be included and cars such as the BMW 320si, Alfa Romeo 156 and Honda Accord Euro R."

Test Drive Unlimited Screenshots (360)

Game Informer Online has posted some screenshots of Test Drive Unlimited.
"Not only does Test Drive Unlimited look great, it will break the trend of expensive next-gen titles and only cost you around 40 bucks."

Most Likely both of 2k's hoops games.

QOTD: Definitely College Hoops, who knows about the NBA, probably buy 1, rent 1 on the game pass. After not really giving it a shot at launch, I've really come to enjoy NBA Live06 for the 360. It has its faults, but with tweaks its very fun to play. NBA 2k6 was great and i expect the sme for 2k7.

David Copperfield can go to hell!!

When I was a kid, we went to see him...he did this trick where he made half the audience disappear...the half my parents and little brother were sitting in. I was on the other side of the auditorium with my grandparents. I was scared ****less...crying my eyes out because I thought my parents were gone for good.

**** David Copperfield. **** him up his stupid ***.

Oh...and QOTD:

I'll give Live a GameFly enabled chance, but I'll likely be playing 2K7 this year...
