More Madden NFL 07 Impressions (360)

Madden Wars have posted the following Madden NFL 07 impressions:
  • Madden NFL 07 Part 1
"Starting with this article, I will be posting my personal impressions of Madden NFL 2007 from playing it at the recent EA Community Day Event. This first feature is going to focus almost entirely on graphics and animations before I move on to the various elements of gameplay in offense, defense and special teams. Hope you find this informative and entertaining!"
  • Madden NFL 07 Part 2
"Moving on I took a close look at the inside running game, as one of the developers talked specifically about the teams goals for the running game with run to daylight, user controlled lead blockign and a concerted effort to make runnign the ball as much fun as passing to create better balance in gameplay al around. I can say that as in previous versions of Madden, patience and layign off the speed burst are highly effective."
  • Madden NFL 07 Part 3
"With the jump-the-snap feature (also seen in NCAA 2007) there is a mini-chess match at the snap now. You can attempt to pres ["y"] at the snap to beat the OL off the ball and if timed right you blow up the play; however, just like in NCAA, a fake snap count will get you for encroahment every time if you guessed wrong. It is another example of much more "risk-versus-reward" in the game and is something I love to see making its way into the gameplay. The DL moves are also more fun now because they can be used n a better fashion. Previously, the game would only allow those animations and moves to be used AFTER engaging an OL-man."

Well, I'll break the trend here. Yes, I am VERY excited about Madden 07. After playing NCAA 07 and loving it, and reading Shawn Drotar's impressions from Madden Community Day, specifically the parts about how similar Madden is to NCAA, YES, I am excited.

I'm pretty excited.
I freakin bought a $500 system for NCAA and Madden so maybe part of it is convincing myself I'm excited.

Either way I'm getting it first day and playing it non stop, no matter how good/bad it is.
