News Post

Sorry for the late post, I have been hammered with work all morning.

Well, instead of Dora, we saw Disney on Ice yesterday. I could have sworn my wife said it was Dora, but oh well, no biggy, Nat loves Disney stuff just the same. She really had a blast too, every once and a while the skaters would come up to the crowd and wave to the kids. There was this one time where Cinderella came up and looked Nat square into the eyes and waved to her. Nat waved back and was grinning from ear to ear, and her eyes were in amazement. It was truly "one of those moments". Man, I'd love to live that moment over and over again, she absolutely loved the show and at the end when the show was over, all the characters asked the kids to come up and shake hands, etc. Nat shook Cinderella's hand and was amazed at it all. She probably won't forget last night for a good long time, it was money well spent. We had tickets in the 2nd row, but we thought they'd be much higher, we were pleasantly surprised when they sat us in our seats.

Anyways, I gotta get back to work.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite TV show?

I picked up Fight Night Round 3 today, looking forward to playing it when I get home. Also picked up "Rent", my favorite play and didn't get to see the movie when it was in theaters, luckily, it's out on DVD 3 months later. With the holidays in there, it feels like it just came out in the theater last week.

That's about all here.

Hammered with work, or hammered AT work?

Question of the day?

Happy B-Day 3A and Acid!

Where was the Disney on Ice at? Sounds like you had a good time man; good to hear.

Whats up with me? I'm in class, taking notes, trying to stay awake. I have an exam in exactly four hours that I am not going to do well on at all. Oh well, ain't no worries. I had a dream last night where I was at the NFL draft...quite amazing.

I had a really great weekend back home in Seattle. Saw a bunch of friends and family I hadn't seen since New Years. Didn't do anything special, but it was good to be home for a bit.

Oh, I also just signed the lease on my house for next year, and I am pretty excited about that. It is a lot closer to campus than my appartment, and about a three minute walk to the bars. Yesssss!

Whats up with you?

Yeah, I hope to get a copy today as well. The demo was awesome.

My bad QOTD is up.

Disney on Ice was at the MCI Center in D.C.

Good luck on the exam bro.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite TV show?

Easily Arrested Development. Nothing is even close to this shows level. Family Guy, Sienfeld, PTI, I love these shows, but nothing compares to AD.

Fox is terrible at marketing its good shows (ex: AD, FG), while they put out hundreds of new shows each year that fail.

I'm not really sure if I expect AD to be picked up by another company, but they need to be. If you haven't watched this show yet, SERIOUSLY GO BUY SEASON 1 AND 2! I have shown this show to tons of people, old and young, and I have yet to meet someone who has said "eh, I didn't really like it". Go buy it today, after you get off work. If you don't like it, sell it on eBay a week later for probably about the same price.

It is so good.

Nothing much happening here. Been raining outside for the better part of the last 4 days. Looking forward to picking up fight night and MLB 06 the show next week. Hopefully they will tide mw over till Oblivion comes out next month. Anyway, put in a good long session this past weekend on the 360. Amazing machine.

QOTD: my favorite tv show right now is Crossing Jordan.

Steve,

Glad to hear Nat had a wonderful time at Disney on Ice. I've contemplated taking my 4 year old son a couple times, but was always afraid he'd cause a scene and want to leave after 10 minutes. Surprisingly, I took him to a sneak preview of Curious George a couple weeks back and he did great. With about 20 minutes left in the movie, he said he was done watching it and ready to go home. I convinced him to hang in there, and he was fine. Decent movie to to boot. Perhaps, I'll take my 2 year old daughter to Dora on Ice or Disney on Ice next time they are in St. Louis. And I know what you mean about wanting to bottle up those special "moments". In the past few weeks, there have been so many between my son and daughter that I feel like the luckiest dad in the world. Fatherhood sure is a blast, albeit exhausting.

By the way, is it me or is it normal to fall out of touch with my single friends. It almost seems as if they're not as comfortable calling now that I'm hitched with kids. Kinda strange and sad at the same time. Then again, I'm really bad at staying in touch with friends I've known or made.

Really getting excited about March Madness. The Jayhawks have jumped to 16 in the latest AP poll, and if they defeat Baylor tonight it'll set up a prime time showdown with Texas on Saturday night.

Finally got my HD/DVR set up with my 32" Westinghouse LCD tv. I watched in amazement the Syracuse/WV game last night. The picture was so crystal clear and beautiful. This was the first time I had witnessed a sports game in HD. Unreal. Does anyone know if the fullcourt package is in HD?

Can't wait to pick up Fight Night Round 3 tomorrow!

QOTD: Well, it was Reunion until they cancelled the show. Screw you Fox! I'm still faithful to ER, but really it's not the show it used to be. I don't know really. Everything I watch is rather mediocre (Desperate Housewives, King of Queens, King of the Hill, etc.)

Still feeling a bit under the weather (read about it in my BLOG).

Work has gotten painfully slow, so I'm spending most of my days in finace meetings or juggling Staff around to keep them busy. I hate being slow, the day drags.

The Disney on Ice story is cool. We leave for Disney in about 9 weeks. My kids are so psyched. I'm fully expecting a few of those "moments" while we're there.

QOTD: I would have to say SCRUBS is my favorite show right now. There's not a lot of great TV right now, but Scrubs consistently gets me.

QOTD - Easily, The Shield. For the last 5 years, the best written and acted TV show out there.

If you like Scrubs, I think you will really enjoy AD.

I used to be a huge Scrubs fan, seasons 1 and 2 were amazing. I have tryed to get into this season...we will see how that goes.

Scrubs is hilarious, my second favorite show behind Lost.

Not much going on here. I'm finally over my sickness. Took a week, but it's gone. Been busy today which is making the day go by fast. Looking forward to FNR3. I'll probably pick that up later this week.

QOTD - Tought to pick for me. LOST, 24, Scrubs and the CSI's are all pretty high up on my list and all are on my DVR schedule. I also like a few of the sitcoms that CBS offers - mainly Two and a Half Men and Yes Dear, but they aren't must see shows.

Interesting Steve - live near the DC area?? My good buddy lives about 20 minutes north of there (Glen Burnie MD) & soon my bro is taking a job in Elkton MD... i always get a kick out of kids reactions to things, whether it's my nieces or my friend's son.. sometimes i wish i could go back to being that age... played the FN 3 demo on my buddy's 360 & was impressed... of course now i am driving everyone nuts cause i keep dropping hints the 360 is what i would like for my birthday next month... today i had to go out & get a new computer chair - nice & comfy now (& was on sale for 39.99 to boot).. i am also getting geared up to "go to war" with someone i work with because of a vacation dispute- i might lose my "Labor Day" week that i picked due to "senority". getting itchy to pick up TOCA 3 tomorrow too (will see what's out there also that piques my interest).... boy i really need to clean my apartment again!!!

my favorite TV shows? well as far as currents - Family Guy, Yes Dear, Amazing Race are the ones I sit & pay attention to (oh- & Law & Order - ALL of them --- & now they are coming out with yet another L & O spinoff)... all time? i would say "V" - have the DVD collection, A-Team, Knight Rider, & yes, I watched "In the Heat of the Night" like it was going out of style...

My favorite TV show is American Choppers, by far. Does anyone else watch it? It seems like everyone I work with watches it when someone brings it up. I really, really like it. I also can't wait for some new episodes of World Poker Tour. I actually tried to watch Arrested Development once, but didn't see the appeal to it. I don't get to watch sitcoms much, but I do like King of Queens and Yes, Dear. I think that the only 3 shows I am recording now are American Choppers, Smackdown!(which is much better since Angle has returned) and RAW.

I simply can't wait for baseball to start. Pitchers and catchers started reporting last week and I really love this time of year. The Reds pitching continues to stink, but with Wayne Krivsky(former Twins assistant) as the new Reds GM, hopefully things will change soon. Lou Pinella is likely to be their manager next year, and this years free agent crop is looking like it's going to be full of good arms. I also expect a trade to go down before opening day this season for one of the outfielders, probably Wily Mo Pena. Hopefully they can get a good return, even though his stock is down right now.

Less than a week from MLB 06: The Show. Hopefully the bugs have been fixed and we will all get a great MLB game this season. I am also really looking forward to GRAW in the next few weeks.

I really don't like that show too much. Monster Garage, American Choppers, all kind of boring and seem like the same thing everytime. The parts I do like of the show is the painting. Man, that is awesome to watch.

Pretty boring day at school, found out I bombed an Algebra II test, so that's not good.

Going to get Fight Night Round 3 once my mom gets home, then have some lunch and go to the first practice for tennis.

Pretty boring birthday.

QOTD: So many choices here..I love Survivor (especially Survivor: All-Stars) [lame..I know], Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother, Yes Dear, and some others. Right now though, I'd say Survivor.

Well i'm having problems with my digital cable box. The sound went kaput on me last night so I went and got a new box and STILL the sound is gone, replaced by a buzzing sound. A tech is coming tomorrow morning to check on it.

QOTD: easily DALLAS.

Nothing else on TV catches my fancy these days.

Don't let the test get you down man. Enjoy the rest of the birthday John.
