News Post

The Pistons beat the Sonics last night to improve their record to 26-4. They play Utah tonight, remember the last time they met, the Jazz won. I'm sure the Pistons will be more than a little fired up for this one.

Parcells has inked an extension to coach the Boys until 2007. What a relief, I didn't want to see him go, now they need to start focusing on fixing that offensive line.

The NFL playoffs start later today, I'll be pulling for the Jags and Bucs, how about you?

In other news...Got some news links of your own? Post it here!

No OS'er birthdays today.

Enough about me, what's up with you?

Yeah, you picked the right one, man, go Jaguars.

Honestly, my nose feels like crap, and I think I'm starting to get a sore throat as well.

I'm ready for some playoff football, even though the Eagles aren't playing this year. I'll be pulling for the Pats today, and really don't care who wins the Bucs/Skins matchup. How can you not cheer for Bruschi, Brady, Vrabel, etc.? That team is full of players that respect the game, and their opponents. You have to like that.

The Flyers won again last night, giving them the best record in the NHL, but the Ottawa Senators have 2 games in hand. The Flyers have been battling injuries to key players all year, and currently own the best road record in the NHL. They've earned at least 1 point in their last 14 road contests, and are 7-0-1 on their current 11 game road trip, the longest in club history. I can't help but be excited about what this team has accomplished thus far. However, I'm more worried about how we're playing come April.

How can I not cheer for the Pats? Honestly, because I'm tired of seeing them win, tired of seeing the media predicting them to win it all every year. I want to see some fresh blood in the Super Bowl, the earlier the Pats are done, the happier I'll be.

How do you like hockey w/ the new rule changes this year? Do you feel hockey is much better, a little better, or about the same? Just curious.

Well, I've got Afrin, saline spray, Cephalexin, and Oxycodeine.

C and O are generic: C for Keflex and O for Percocet.

Go Jags!

Steve you better watch out for those Raptors. We're gonna roll our way to the 8th seed (gee that isn't so good but oh well) and SHOCK THE WORLD!.......at least I hope so.

So I finished watching my DVD so I will give some quickhits on it since i'm sure no one gives a damn about 1993 football.
  1. Charlie Jones and Todd Christianson were the commentators (groan) tho they weren't top tier they weren't annoying just bland for the most part.
  2. The simplicity of the broadcast back then was VERY refreshing, no tickers, no graphics overload, no 1st down marker (actually that was the only thing I missed)
  3. Man I miss the days when Rich (now Wilson) Stadium was the toughest place to play in.
  4. I don't think the Bills would've won if there was Instant Replay as Don Beebe (I think) had his foot out of bounds when the Bills scored their 2nd TD. That play would've certainly be called back today and who knows if the momentum would've stayed as the crowd went apeshat from that point on.
  5. As for the Oilers, I think it was one of the biggest chokes ever. The defense started to get cute and deviated from the gameplan. By the time they realized "hey the Bills are coming back" they couldn't stop the tidal wave.
  6. Finally, I had a very tough time watching OJ at halftime and doing post game interviews. Man that guy was just TERRIBLE at it. Oh and it was nice seeing a halftime interview with Don Shula and a young Bill Cowher.

Oh yeah and one last thing, comercial time outs sure were less intrusive back then.

Anywho watching that classic has me pumped up for today. I don't really have a rooting interest in the Pats/Jags game but I think New England will win. I'm rooting for Washington to beat Tampa Bay tho. I don't exactly know why but I think it's cuz I want to see Joe Gibbs succeed.

Raptors win 5 in a row and gonna try to make it 6 with a win vs the Nets tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to the playoffs games. It's great to see new teams again, not always the same 5-6 teams every playoff. I hope Jacksonville wins cause I like Leftwich and Jack Del Rio. Not sure who to root for between the Skins and Bucs. And of course I can't wait for the G-Men to dismantle the Panthers tomorrow.

Last night i bought an authentic Steve Nash jersey for 20 bucks. Easily the best deal I've ever gotten on ebay. Steve did you check out the link I posted?

My knee is preety banged up. I had a knee on knee collisons while I was playing hoops at the Y last evening. I'm icing it like crazy and taking anti inflammatories to reduce the swelling. Man I hate being injured.

wha'dup with you?

haha. I'm lookin' forward to that matchup bro.

Isn't it cool to watch those games from the past? I have quite a few Cowboys dvd's w/ commercials. The commercials alone are worth buying the DVD's LOL.

Boooooo, screw Joe Gibbs.

Well, one of the winning streaks will come to an end. The Nets have won 9 in a row, I think.

Yeah, I checked out the link. I'm sure to bid on a few of them, thanks for the heads up!

Ouch, knee on knees aren't very fun, hope it gets better soon.

My workplace is changing, personel wise. You could label it as "leaving our department" month. So far two of my best friends I talk with at work left this week.(Thursday and Friday) And now another one leaves next week Friday and also another one leaves two weeks from now. Crazy thing is that these people have been with the bank for more than 2 years. I feel sad they are leaving us, but happy for them at the same time.

Anyways, tonight I am going to my boss' sons 1st birthday party. Wow, how a year flies by already. It's at a mini golf place. Let's see how I do in mini golf.

same here.. lost a fellow manager this week ("moving on") but due to some "legal issues", they would not give her the two weeks - instead shoving her right out the door when she gave notice.. so it should get very interesting around my job since we are now down to 4 managers..

ps- Beebe, one heck of a receiver, but CLEARLY out of bounds.. worst was going to school up in those parts during their "glory years"..

Yep, I was the biggest Bills backer in my school at the time and I had glory during the regular season but damn did the Bills disappoint me with those SBs

# 17 nyisles16 @ 01/07/06 01:39 PM
ha - i still have one of those "Bills" t-shirts they sold around the dorms.. "Boy I Love Losing Superbowls".. but Beebe surely made up for that by making Lett look stupid in that one game.. can't say i hated the bills, cause most of them were pretty cool guys - got a chance to talk to JK once for a minute or so... though the Miami games were "disgusting" to say the least (all the dead fish in the parking lots)..

Steve, today's the playoffs, huh? Okay, my pick's gonna be Washington and New England. They will both will for sure. Last night, Wade and Williams injured cause the Heat lose to the Suns. Also, Smush and Kobe never missed the three ball. 12 for 12 combined. 7 for 7 for Kobe and 5 for 5 for Smush. Tonight though, the L.A. and L.A. will battle so it will be a tight matchup.

I'm dying for tonights game to be here already. It's a big day in the Coleman household because my dad's a huge Skins fan.

Other than that, I'll probably just watch a little college basketball (I can't believe UK got waxed by Kansas).
