Electronic Arts is pleased to announce that MVP 06 NCAA Baseball has officially gone gold for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The game will ship to retailers under the EA SPORTS brand on Tuesday, January 17.

The fourth edition of the MVP franchise – the highest-rated and top selling baseball game of the past three years – presents a completely new baseball experience with MVP 06 NCAA Baseball. The first-ever college baseball videogame, MVP 06 NCAA Baseball includes all-new gameplay innovations, including Load and Fire Batting that intuitively emulates stepping up to the plate, and revolutionary ESPN integration, featuring a real-time ESPN ticker scrolling across the bottom of the screen and live ESPN Sportscenter radio updates. With 128 teams and 19 authentic stadiums, gamers can now experience the spirit of college baseball and battle their way to Omaha – the home of the College World Series.

The game was developed in Vancouver, B.C., by EA Canada. MVP 06 NCAA baseball is rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $29.99. The game’s official website is www.mvp06ncaabaseball.com.

I'd be more excited if I knew tht I could play it on the 360 when I get one in March. I don't want to have to buy an Xbox just to play this game

I am jacked for this game! Even though I would like it to be playable on the 360, I am glad I held on to the xbox.

Gonna skip this one since I got rid of my Xbox and only have a 360. However I'm not sure I'd get it if I kept my Xbox. The interest level isn't there for me.

I read EGM gave it a 5 out of 10. I didnt read the review so I have no idea why they scored it so low.

If they made it BC i'd be interested only because i love MVP 2005 and hate the 2k baseball series. Being we don't have a choice this year, I would pick this up if it were BC. No way i'm buying a xbox or ps2 just for this game.

Shawn had mostly good things to say about the game. I'd be shocked if EGM gave it a 5 out of 10.

I saw the EGM score on another site. They claim it's in the February issue of the magazine. Not sure of the validity of that or how someone saw the February issue of EGM already.

Shawn's reviews and impressions in past baseball games have been excellent IMO. So if he's enjoyed MVP NCAA, I'm sure it's a good game.

I just got my Feb issue from Zinio and it scored the following from the 3 reviewers (5.5,8.0,6.5) The main part of the SHORT review is that the fielding feels cumbersome and is the best feature but also the worst in execution. The one who scored it an 8 also feels it didnt deliver with the fielding, but there is an option to use last years fielding/batting according to the review, so that is good.

The two low scores also bashed the amount of 'routine' balls that were dropped....HELLO this is not the big leagues, if they played like it I would be disappointed. The likened the play to the minor leagues which in my opinion is perfect. I reserved mine yesterday and regardless of 360 compatiblility it will be an easy decision on picking this up regardless of the reviews from the 'other' sites.

I know enough about this game to know that if you liked MVP last year and are able to comprehend the fact that these are NOT MLB players you will be a happy gamer. Will it be perfect, not a chance. For $30 though I dont expect perfection.
