News Post

Wow, it's December already! Not much happened last night. I made some awesome turkey soup with some leftover Thanksgiving turkey we had. Oh man, I'm surprised it turned out so good. I might have to whip up some more tonight.

The Pistons beat the Nets last night to run their league best record to 11-2. The central division is very tough, every single team is above .500, all of the other divisions don't even come close. After being down by 5 at the half, the Stones came up big in the 2nd half, RIP lead the way w/ 30 points. He and Billups, as usual, came up with the big shots to ice the game at the end. I'm really diggin' those red uniforms, anyone else like them? LB and the Knicks come for a visit on Friday, should be a fun game to watch. I'm interested to see what the fans do when they announce LB.

In other news...Happy Birthday to the following OS'ers!
WoodyHeat1983 (22), dschneider (17)

Enough about me, what's up with you?

Cold is what's up. Getting very cold here in Cleveland.

Cavs won a big one in OT last night. Gotta win these home games. 30 wins must happen at home for this team to be legit IMO.

Browns play the Jags this weekend, but seriously, who cares. I can't even give away my tickets! Luckily I've already sold the Steelers (Xmas Eve) and Ravens (New Years's Day) games. Any other teams get both those games at home this year or only the Browns getting the shaft. Two biggest games of the season and they are on the 2 worst days..typical.

Going to a Christmas ligthing display in my city tonight, at city hall they turn on the lights, have kids singing Xmas songs and what not. We go every year, always a lot of fun. Santa comes in on a sleigh and hits the switch. Kids get a big kick out of it.

Going to see General Tso on Saturday....

General Tso...

The wife and I are going to drop the boys off at her parents house this evening, then head out with another couple to grab some dinner. Although I've been off all week, I've been spending my days watching Brandon and Christopher.

Christopher is on a Wiggles kick. He wants to watch them all day, and when it's time for bed, he's screaming "Wiggles!". It's pretty funny.

I'm glad it's finally December. December is by far by favorite month of the year.

The weather is getting a little cooler, but it's still fairly nice. Almost all of the leaves are out of my trees, so this weekend should be the last time I need to clean up.

Do you have a season pass for the Browns games or something? What about the Cavs, have you been to a game this year? I saw em' last year when they played the Wiz.

Ah yes, General Tso. heh... I might have to pay him a visit this weekend as well.

I have season tickets for the Browns. Haven't seen a Cavs game yet. Watched them all but haven't been to one yet. Plan on going to a few after the New Year, just haven't had time.

I never had time to rake my leaves, they fell late, we got snow, and now they are all gone, no clue where they even went!!! It's like the tree leave fairy paid me a visit or something.

Off all week huh? Must be nice. Getting some quality time in w/ the 360 huh?

Nat doesn't really like the Wiggles too much, she's all into Dragon Tales tho. heh.

Well, do you guys remember that girl I was gonna ask out yesterday?

...I got her number.

So I feel pretty good about that. We might end up hanging out on Friday. We'll see how it goes, but I really, really like her. She is cute, smart and athletic. So those are all good things, plus she is a few years older than me. It is always better to date older girls, because I don't want that drama...

Well, I got to go take a test for my poly sci class in a little bit...wish me luck...I need it.

congrats Herbie.. glad all went well.. stepped outside today & BAM - was like what happened to the nice warm weather? Watched a combo of Rudolph & the NY tree lighting last night with the G/F.. today is what I like to call "bumbing around" day - also considering it was "rent day" as well .. i dunno - there is something about this time of year that I like (maybe not the cold though).. my dad broke his ankle jogging the other day, which gave me a good idea for an x-mas present (headlights on a hat)- hehe... & last but not least, just browsing the internet for any more "hot stove" rumors...

How did he brake his ankle jogging? Stepped of a curb wrong? BK drop another ball in front of him?

Went to the dentist today! Don't need to go any further than that. Just a basic cleaning but I missed the last few so the dentist was giving me a lecture, whatever dude!

The weather finally is getting colder. I love cold weather, just feels invigorating. The wife and I decorated the tree today, Its holiday time ready or not! Operation delete the checkbook starts. LOL!

Also, had a new sofa delivered today. New things are always nice and I was tired of sitting on the floor because we gave our old sofa away to a family. Other than that nothing else new.

Ugh, don't remind me. I have to go to the dentist this month, yay me. I hate going to the dentist, the smell just makes me ill. And when they are cleaning my mouth feels all dry, I need to rinse like every few seconds, but the idiot won't let me. So I sit and feel nasty as my throat dries up. When it's time to rinse, I do it at least 5 times haha. I just simply hate going.

School was boring, I didn't feel like going to my aiding class, so I just told the teacher I was leaving. He was cool with that.

Gonna pick some lunch up for my mom and I later on when it's around lunchtime, then I dunno.

I keep getting this urge to buy Madden for the 360, but I don't want to feel like I wasted $60 if I don't like it. Help me out here Steve.

Madden for the 360...hmm... Well, I just can't get into it myself. There is some good and some bad. I can't get over a few things w/ the game. There have been plenty of times my receiver or the AI receiver will catch the ball w/ 1 foot inbounds, resulting in a catch. Another issue that seems to come up too often is a QB w/ his arm going forward gets hit, most of the time it's ruled a fumble in this game, you can't challenge the call. You can't challenge any calls, actually. Some animations are ok, but a lot of them IMHO aren't "Next-Gen" quality. If you let a punt go, instead of catching it for a fair catch, the ball has virtually no physics to it. I've never seen a punted ball kick back, they always go forward, skipping accross the turf or grass like a hot potato. The punt return game is much improved tho, so if you are setting up a return, at least they block for you. I actually returned a KO return last night against the Chargers. 95 yds baby! I just went right up the gut w/o a touch. I'm playing w/ default sliders on All-Pro.

Like I said tho, there are some good things about the game, but I just can't get into it. The little things that I described are a BIG part of football, if you can't get that right, I just can't stick w/ it for long. There are quite a few people that love the game tho, so I'd recommend renting it, then deciding for yourself.
