Nothing much going on. Dan had his first practice with the new basketball team last night. I'd love to say the team was the next version of the NBA All Star team, but they are very far from it. While he will have at least 2 other guys that half way look like they know what they're doing, the rest of his teammates flat out should not be out there. In layup drills, most of the kids were throwing it completely over the backboard or slamming them off the backboard so hard it ended up on the other side of the court. Truly embarrassing. I'm feeling the pain Dan has with the team, but he's keeping it inside. I know how he feels, but maybe with a little coaching the team can get better, I don't see them possibly getting any worse. Who knows, maybe the other teams in the league are in worse shape than we are, lol. I was cracking up last night, it was like watching the bad news bears playing basketball. I mean up and down the court they went, double dribbling, travelling, tripping over themselves. Of course then we have the wanna-be Jordan's and of course the "And 1" ballers that think palming and carrying the ball is part of the game. There were quite a few behind the back passes that soared out of bounds, quite a few between the leg crosses that went off the dribblers feet, plenty of ugliness all around really. The thing that really gets me is the fact that the coach is running a run and gun Phoenix Suns style offense and there are only 3 guys on the entire team that is in shape, LMAO. Seriously, I was laughing for most of the practice, it was funny to watch.

Anyways, what do you guys think about Mooch getting fired? About time? Wrong decision? How about the players, they are all pointing the finger at everyone else, that Lion team is out of control. Now I hear Martz wants to make his return to coach the Rams, just shut it down Mike.

In other news...
Happy Birthday to the following OS'er!

I'm in Physics. My teach is out cause she got sick.

I started Visual Basic, so that's pretty cool. I'll be able to program like a fiend in Java AND VB!

Other than that, I'm bored. I have a take-home test due yesterday and a test today in AP Lit that I have to turn in. That'll be fun.

I started parental leave Monday so it's just me and my two kids at home (thank god for Dora the Explorer). Watched a great interview with Drew Bledsoe last night (what a class act). I'm finnishing painting my video game room/media room tonight when my wife gets home. Played some Madden 360 last night, I'm really starting to get used to the game.

I think IMHO Mooch got screwed, did he draft all that talent (I use that term loosly). He is a good coach, Millen is the one who should be out the door. That's all.

Lets see, what's up?

I went to the Islander game last night and watched them piss away yet another game to the Flyers 4-3. They were up 3-1 in the second period. It appeared at least to me that the Islanders scored to tie the game just seconds before the horn blew but the final decision was that the ref blew the whistle before the puck went in. From halfway through the second period until the end, the Islanders looked flat and lifeless, not good!

As far as football goes, waiting patiently for the Cowboys to squash the Giants. With regards to the Lions, they need a redo! The coach was just the first part. It was a long time coming but its not the final answer.

I am enjoying my 360 but I am really missing a baseball title for it. Definately a void for me there right now. I do not see anything great for it in the near future either.

I can't believe we are about to move into December already, time seems to be really racing along. I can't even think about Christmas shopping right now.

Other than that nothing new here!

Yup, thanks Dora! My daughter loves that website too. pbskids.org is a good one as well, just in case.

Bledsoe interview huh? What channel? A recent one?

I agree, Millen should be gone. Mooch will find another job, I don't doubt that, but Millen will need to get back in the booth and do play by play. heh.

I don't follow hockey too much, but if the puck is shot and then the horn goes off, is it sort of like football? Is it live until it is touched or saved in this example? Or if the horn goes off to end the period, it doesn't matter if the puck is in the air or not?

Squash the Giants huh? I hope you're right. I always thought you were a Giants fan for some reason.

Yup, time is just FLYING, I can't believe it's almost Xmas. As you get older time seems to go by a LOT faster.

Time was not the issue, there were 2 seconds left. What happened was that there was a mass gathering in front of the Flyer's goal. The puck cleared the line and the net broke away but they said that the ref blew the whistle to stop play before the puck crossed for a goal. Just bad luck!

I have been a long time Cowboy fan. My father is the diehard Giants fan!

Ohhh, I see. Just out of curiosity, what happens in the situation I described?

Nice to have another Cowboy fan here.

Just what the world needs, more Cowboy fans!

Not much is up with me. Middle of the week, trudging through work I don't want to do. Wishing I was home in bed, been very tired lately.

Question in Cleveland will the Tribe spend money on signing Trevor Hoffman and Nomar Garciaparra, I guess we'll find out.

Whatsup?

Well, not much really. I get the pleasure of getting my tags renewed today, on the LAST DAY of the month. Oh goody, that wait will just be terrrrrrrific! I can't believe prices are now up to $97.

Other than that, I'll be working on a job with Papaw. I think I'll be digging post holes for the new fence we're putting up. We'll set about 6 of those post in concrete. Hopefully that's all we are doing today. It's only supposed to get up to 49 or 50 today.

I'm also deciding whether to skip my Wednesday night class to go to the Memphis/Jackson State game tonight or not. If I do, that'd be my third straight week to skip and I'm sure we have a test or something coming up.

Oh well, I'm going to get me some sweet tea. Everyone have a great day!

So what's up with you?

You got that right!

Tired huh? Quit staying up til 3 A.M. on your 360 and you'll be fine.

I'd go for Hoffman. Nomahhhhh is too much of a risk nowadays.

LOL, it's always fun to wait at the DMV. Luckily I haven't had to do that in quite some time.

So....When you work w/ Papaw, is that his business? I mean, do you work for him and get paid or is this just something you do to help out?

LOL, 3 straight skips wouldn't be a good idea bro.

It is my understanding that the puck has to be in motion and not in the act of shooting. If a player shoots and the puck is traveling as the buzzer goes off it can be counted as a goal. I also think it is also up to the refs. I know a player can be penalized for taking a shot on goal just after the horn goes off. Its a refs call.

Well, we don't live in the city so thank God I don't have to go through inspection. I wouldn't pass because my windshield is cracked from top to bottom. It's a modern day miracle it hasn't completely shattered in my face. :y4:

Yeah, he has had a helper (Larry) for about 10-12 years now. After I get laid off in April, I started collecting unemployment and didn't have a job up til July. It got boring and I need some more cash, and he really needed some extra hands so he hired me at $10/hr. Since his back has really been going downhill these past few months, he decided to keep me on for this job. It's a two story addition. Should be about a 3-4 month project.

Working with him has opened my eyes as far as how much work people go to when it comes to construction. I've done everything from tear down fences, to lay insulation under a house, to tearing down a bathroom and ceilings, to simply just sweeping up dirt. Not to mention, I have an absolute blast with him. Even though he is 71, he acts like he's 41.

Awww...you were supposed to talk me OUT of class, and going to the game! Where are your priorities man.

Penalized for a shot on goal after the horn? Wow, I never knew that either. I'm guessing because it could cause some serious injury to a goaltender not expecting a puck coming at that time.

Ah, you are lucky. We have to go through inspection every single year and emissions every 2 years. I can't stand it. Waiting in those lines are always fun too.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean working in construction. It is very hard work, I did it for about a year I think. My dad is a foreman for a construction company, but he works very hard. I don't know how he does it honestly. Wow 71 and still going at it huh? Somehow I think my dad will do the same.

Alright, update: I'm at home.

In 3rd period (Spanish), we learned about Tito Puente. I thought it was Fuente, but whatever.

4th period (Madrigals (chamber choir)) was the thing that brought me home. While standing and singing, I got dizzy and laid down, feeling like I was going to pass out. When I got home, I looked up the two new prescriptions I have, and I have Nasonex and Allegra-D. Well, apparently Allegra-D causes dizziness. It wasn't working any way, so I'm going to stop using that. I have a performance on Friday I can't afford to pass out during.

But I'm at home now, just relaxing. I'm irritated, cause I missed a test in AP Lit, Gov for the 2nd day and AP Comp Sci for the 2nd day.

Oh well, I get some time to put into CH2k6 I guess.

Don't be skipping too many test, in my Media Law class I didn't turn in the first take home exam and it is killing my grade! I've gotten nothing lower than an A- on the two following test and I'll still be lucky to get a B- in the class. So do yourself a favor and try hard to get those test in.

What's up?

Just got done taking a hard math exam. Calculus for medicine is the worst course ever. My teacher, after collecting the tests says "5 of you guys aren't passing, you need to do something." Yeah, thanks teach. 2 more days of class and work and I'm heading to East LAnsing. I can't wait for that.

The take home test was my fault, but the Allegra-D caused me to miss today's.
