We have just posted the fact sheet for MLB '06: The Show, including 33 screenshots.
"Coming off yet another phenomenal year, Sony Computer Entertainment America’s MLB franchise, the longest running officially licensed baseball franchise, could be considered a dynasty. Already widely considered the most authentic baseball simulation available, MLB™ ’06:The Show picks up where last year’s game left off, but with numerous gameplay enhancements. An all-new Rivalry Mode allows those with a competitive nature set up and maintain rivalries between multiple gamers and track the stats for the life of the rivalries, while the all-new Career Spotlight underscores Career Mode accomplishments, and the refined Franchise Mode features more intuitive functionality. Bringing more depth to Franchise and Season Modes, the all-new Game Time Decisions presents scenarios within the game that may have a direct effect on the outcome. For gamers seeking to get in a little BP or looking to work on painting the corners of the plate, an innovative mini-game, King of the Diamond, showcases the ultimate pitcher/batter duel."

Wow, I thought you only kept it for your favorite game, Britney's Dance Beat.

Thanks for the images Steve.

Showing screens of animations from last year's game isn't a great way to start advertising this game, IMO. Show something new!

And this shot:

...shows that there is without a doubt no type of dynamic lighting in this game.

But from another thread, as long as they've taken care of some small issues, which it seems like they have, this title should still be the top baseball game.

Unless MLB 2k comes out of NOWHERE. And boy, do I mean NOWHERE...

Oh, and the catcher and umpire follow hits, it would seem like. Nice touch, but let's hope that the pitcher does as well, save just the shots right back up the middle like this years title.

MVP 06 is my favorite for Baseball Game of the Year in 2006. It looks like the most refreshing, and could have the best baseball engine if they make the right changes (which it sounds like they are). I gave MLB06 the award last year, but the new NCAA game looks like a big boost to the solid MVP series which ran second last year, and I expect the new batter/pitcher gameplay to rival MLB06 or even surpass it.

This should be the best MLB game however, unless like you said, 2K comes out of nowhere with an outstanding effort. I know Sony doubled the team of developers for this game compared to last year, and they carry the most momentum of any franchise.

I agree... but that's what I meant. MLB game.

I'm also looking forward to MVP '06. I'm still up in the air about the college thing though.

Man, throw it on the 360 and you have an easy sale from me!

What? This is the new edition. This is not an update. They just changed the year thats all. This is supposed to be MLB 2007 if they didnt change the name thats all.

It's a brand new MLB. They didn't change the year, but the name is definitely different with the addition of "The Show".

It's just MLB's way of catching up with everyone else and having the right year.

"All-New 40-Man Roster Provides the ability to take full control of a teams roster and manage all 40 players for each and every game."

I hadn't seen this since I played HH2002 for the PC, I might buy this game now.

Me too. I held on to the PS2 last year for MLB 2006, and I'm gonna give it another try with The Show this year.
