It's Friday! The weekend is almost here. This week has absolutely flew for me this week, I've been entirely too busy at work.

So, I was showing my wife how to TIVO last night and she asked the question..."Can't you record shows and have it skip the commercials?" Well, I thought I remembered this was a feature w/ TIVO, am I wrong? I've recorded a few things and I know commercials were involved, is there some sort of setting that needs to be turned on so it won't record the commercials?

I finally checked out the Walmart near me last night and there she was. I nice Xbox 360 kiosk with nobody playing. I walk up to it and as soon as I do, this little 4 year old boy comes up and grabs the joystick, as I was holding it. Well, I calmly just let him play, because at 4 years old, I'm sure his attention span for this isn't going to last. Well, he wiggled the joystick and mashed buttons for a few minutes and got bored, so I came in to check out the goods. I started off with King Kong, the graphics were insane. I only played it for like 5 minutes, some guys were trying to open some sort of door and this T-Rex was after us. They wanted me to distract it while they opened the door. Well, after I was eaten about 4 or 5 times, I just gave up, I wanted to check out Call of Duty 2. That game is absolutely amazing. The AI seemed a little dumb, but I'm sure there are difficulty settings when the full retail copy comes out. I was capping fools left and right and of course dying myself quite a few times. After about 10 minutes of playing, there was a line behind me, so I bailed and let them play. The lady at Walmart told me they'd have chairs lined up before midnight on release date, first come first serve. Hopefully there will be one with my name on it.

Enough about me, what's up with you? What do you have planned for the weekend?

What's up Steve? I'll be sitting on my butt this weekend. Actually I'm going to see "Jarhead" tonight and then probably "Saw II" and "Roll Bounce" for the rest of this weekend.

If not movies, I'll probably mess with "The Warriors" before I send it back to Gamefly and play some 2K6 since someone has posted a new roster and a cheat code to unlock some shoes and additional jerseys.

Other than that, I'm just waiting for the 22nd. What games are you planning to get?

Replay TV used to do that, then commerical makers complained and commercials are back in. I don't know if TiVo ever did. I have a comcast DVR and there's a hack to skip by commercials, so I use that.

I love Friday's. Is there a better day? The week is over, weekend is here, and relaxation occurs! My old high school has thier first round playoff game tonight and the Browns host Tennessee on Sunday. Cavs play at San Antonio tonight as well. Busy sports weekend!

I was going through my games to get a bunch to trade in, like God of War, Socom 3, Rainbow Sux 4, Madden 06, NBA2K6, Tiger Woods 06, and some others. Just wish MS would release a definitive list of backwards compatibile games, or the ones that they are for sure are so far. That way I could just trade in my XBox. I have 2 problems. One, I'm out of plug in outlets where my entertainment center is, and 2, I'm out of inputs on my TV. So either the old XBox runs in 480i (UGH!) and off a generator, or it gets moved to another room. Now I know if that happens, I'll never touch it again. UGH!

Cool, should be good times for you tonite.

I'm going to d'load those new rosters as well, it's about time I started a season w/ the Pistons. It should hold me over until the 360 comes calling.

I'm getting Madden, Live and NBA 2K6. After playing CoD last night, I might have to put some money down on that one too. How about you?

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. Guess I'm not losing my mind afterall.

Good luck to your high school team. The Spurs game will be a big test for the Cavs, it'll give a pretty good guage on what we should expect from them this season.

God of War, man....that game is amazing, I still play it on occasion. You did beat it right? It was the first game I've beaten in a LONG time. You can get a component switch to take care of that problem bro. I have one that works like a charm. As for plug outlets, get a bigger surge protector outlet thingy... You know, the ones that have like 8 spots to plug into?

Yeah, I beat it. I have a component switch, but it does 3 components only. I've tried many and this is the only one I've liked.

I have an 8 outlet one!! LOL I have my TV, cable box, DVD player, receiver, XBox, PS2, Cube, and my MP3 player all hooked up to it! LOL

I have the one from Audio Authority, it doesn't degrade the quality at all. It has 4 hookups. I've seen something from Pelican that has 7 or 8 hookups, but I think only 3 of them have the optical connection.

LOL. Well, slap another 8 outlet one on there and have 16! Blow up your house!

Friday.....FINALLY!!!

This is getting into the crazy time in my world. Black Friday, Christmas, After Christmas... it's non-stop in the Marketing world. Especially when you deal with a ton of major Retailers. I thought I hated Black Friday when I was a 16 year old high school student working at Toys R Us.... it's even worse for me now!!

My kiddies are a little under the weather. Must be this crazy *** week we're having. Went from 35 degrees one day to 70 the next. I hate to wish away the 70's, but the changing temps wreaks havoc on my rugrats!

If the kids feel better, I think we are going to take them to see "Chicken Little" this weekend. Michigan is on a BYE this Saturday, so a movie could be the perfect thing to avoid yard work!

My wife actually played my Xbox last night for the first time in....well....ever. She got her hands on "World Poker Tour" and I never got my controller back! Now, if I can just sell her on converting the kid's playroom to the 360 Room!

I've considered getting that one. That one is auto sensing right? I've always heard great things about it. But then it requires yet another outlet!! LOL

I've had 2 of the pelican ones, GARBAGE!

Don't any of you guys have leaves in your yard? Every few days, I'm mowing over them so I don't have to rake them. Unfortunately, we got some rain the other day and it's been rather windy so there are too many leaves on the ground to just mow over. Thus, I'll be making a trip to Lowes to pick up some lawn bags.

Well, we finally decided to have our basement water proofed. We've lived in our house for six years, the house is 28 years old, and it's always had water coming in from somewhere. With the kids getting older (3-1/2 and almost 20 months) I'm ready to throw them downstairs to play rather than run in front of the tv every few minutes. We have something called hydro static pressure and that's what is causing the water problem. I sure wish I could go back in time to when we were putting a bid down on our house and bid a good six grand less. Oh well.

Noah's soccer practice is over...finally. Six weeks on Sundays starting at 1 pm! 1 pm guys! That's right during the middle of the Rams game without fail. Thankfully it is over, but it really was a nice bonding experience. However, there was no instruction or organization at all. A lesson learned. 3 years old is a bit young to try and get involved in sports when all they want to do is run around and pretend they are captain feathersword.

No plans scheduled for the weekend, but we'll most likely end up at the the park or Target. We're always going to Target. Hey, it's not a bad place for the rug rats to run around.

I'm in the process of looking for an HDTV. Talk about confusing. I read over 15 pages in the "Everything Else" section of OS. I still don't know what I want. Something inexpensive so I can play the 360 games. That's it.

Back to work.

How are your kids in the movie theaters? I haven't taken Nat to one yet, cuz I'm afraid of what she might do LOL.

360 room, yeah baby! It's only a matter of time until your wife starts whipping you in NBA 2K6 and Madden!

LMAO! Yup, the autosensing one. I hope they come out w/ one that does 8 and outputs to 2 devices, that would solve the problem I'm having.

Are they? Glad I didn't buy one.

I have some leaves, nothing to worry over quite yet. The dreaded day is coming though.

Yeah, those water leaks can be a pain. Plug one up and another one comes out, almost like those cartoons. LOL.

captain feathersword... Nat is playing basketball on her mini hoop, she's got an amazing jumper! Get a TIVO bro!

How big do you want this TV? I just got a 23" Samsung. I used it for my PC and HDTV. It can do picture in picture and is also the exact same monitor the 360 kiosks are using. It's a spectacular monitor and I got it for just under $800.

I've got an insane amount of leaves all over my yard. Thankfully my father hasn't nabbed me to rake them yet. BTW, what exactly is the point of raking leaves? If they just stay on the ground won't they decompose right into the lawn and everything will be fine, ya know...the circle of life?

I think yards look pretty w. all the orange/red/yellow leaves all over them. I don't get the point of raking them up. Maybe it's just because I'm lazy and don't want to do it.

Anyway, it's FRIIIIIIDAY. Probably going to be a chill weekend for me but I'm prefectly fine with that. I think this will be a lazy, football-filled weekend. I also found out last night I'll be getting a $5k raise starting January 1st, booya!!!

I ordered it from Japan, it was on the forums of HDTVarcade.com but I can't get there at work.

I posted the instructions in the last page or 2 of the HDTV questions in the everything else forum.
