News Post

Let's start it off with a hell yeah! The Pistons looked solid on both ends last night against the Sixers. RIP was going off, it was great to see. Even Darko got in the mix w/ a basket and a nice block at the end of the game. He totally looks like a different person on the court this year, I'm shocked at how much quicker he seems to be. I'm also liking what I see from Evans, I honestly didn't know what to think when the Stones signed him, but he has impressed me. Oh and you can't forget about that nasty dunk Delfino had on the baseline!

Anyone know if there is such a thing as a component cable "Y" adapter? I'm trying to run my DirecTV into 2 monitors. I have a cheap adapter that splits the signal, but it degrades the quality of the picture. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I took out all of my mousetraps, since I haven't seen a trace of the little buggers, maybe....just maybe, the one that I caught was the only one we had. I can only hope that's the case, right?

Enough about me, what's up with you? Reserve your 360 yet? The anticipation is growing!

I'm not going to pre-order a 360, just going into my 24 hour WalMart at midnight and going to pick one up. I really don't think I'll have a problem, but you never know.

Looking forward to this weekend, I'm going to Kentucky for the Auburn-UK game. I also get to see my parents because they live in Louisville so it should be a fun weekend.

There's no component Y adapter that I know of. There might be though... I would suspect you would lose signal though.

Cavs looked INCREDIBLE! LeBron is still the King and looked awesome hitting 4 straight 3's. He was ON FIRE! This whole team clicked and everyone knows their roles, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall and Larry Hughes were HUGE pick ups.

Biggest thing for me is I just got a promotion at work! Woo hoo! Getting a lot more money now. Feels good! Right before the holiday's too, can't beat it!

Good luck getting one fishpa! I'm going to try and do the same, since my 360 is supposedly on the 2nd shipment.

Have fun at the game!

That's not what I wanted to hear! Thanks for the info tho, no wonder I haven't been able to find one.

Yeah, the Cavs were looking nice last night, but who were they playing? Oh yeah, my high school freshman squad. j/k bro. Bron was lightin' it up!

Congrats on the promotion! Get me a 360 Mr. Moneybags!

^^^The Pistons definately looked good last night, I figured that game would be pretty ugly since it was the first of the post-LB era.

Well, I wanted to gouge my eyes out last night after watching the Knicks game. The perimeter play of this team drives me nuts. I can tell after one game that I'd rather have Nate Robinson running the point the Marbury. Shoot-first point guards make me want to shoot myself!! I mean Nate didn't play great, but at least he got some dribble penetration with a few nice dimes to the big guys. Then as a team, 54% from the stripe. And Eddy Curry....EHH. Ugly, ugly moves in the post. He needs to learn to protect the ball, keep it up high, and finish strong. When he got blocked by Delonte West I switched to the Pistons game for a good 15 minutes.

But the best part of the night was seeing Ryan Gomes get on the floor. I can't believe he made it to the NBA. I played against a lot of guys who played big time DI and eventually made it to the League, but to see a guy who comes from the same city as me and who I played against so much growing up is just mind boggling. It seemed surreal last night when he was out there.

Besides that, this week is flying by. Work has been very busy which is a good sign. I haven't been up to much, just going to the gym and playing some ball lately. After the big Halloween weekend I don't really have any big plans until Thanksgiving. Either this weekend or next weekend I'll head into the city to visit my boys who live in Queens and Brooklyn. The one in BK just got a new apartment in Fort Greene, I'm pretty damn jealous. Other than that I'm just gonna enjoy the NBA season and look forward to the start of college ball.

College Hoops apparently got pushed back which kinda sucks, but I really haven't had time to play videogames lately. It's always the game I anticpate the most each year though, so part of me is itching to get my hands on it.

How's everyone else doing?

It's going to be interesting to see how LB approaches Starbury. I thought they were going to end up winning that game last night, but after it went OT, it was over rather quickly.

You played ball w/ Gomes? That's pretty cool, sounds like he was garbage huh? LOL. I wish I could say I played ball w/ an NBA player, but unfortunately all I play with are people that claim they should be in the NBA.

You and me both, I'm itching to get my hands on the beta CH. Man, I hope it gets here SOON!

What type of job are you looking for? What do you do now?

Yeah, we have crickets in our house, they are so damn annoying. These aren't the average cricket tho, these guys jump like Jordan, I can't even catch them sometimes they jump so high and are so quick.

LOL, what I wrote about Gomes wasn't clear. I wasn't saying "I can't believe he made it" meaning he sucks, I meant "I can't believe he made it" because it's amazing and cool that someone I know and played against since I was 12 made it to the NBA. He definately isn't and never was garbage. He has an amazing feel for the game and should be a great role player in the League for years to come.

After the season ended our senior year in HS there was an article on the cover of the Waterbury paper about me and him and our careers (we were both named All-State the day the article was printed), etc and how it was rare that "big" players came out of CT anymore (LMAO at big being 6'7" and 6'8").

Unfortunately our careers from there took very different paths.

He's in the NBA making millions and I'm, well.....at OS.

Gotcha, I misread it, lol.

What happened to your career? Injury? Family? Why aren't you throwin' it down big man!?!?

Spondylosisthesis.

http://drscottcady.com/CTSpondylolisthesis.htm

Awful. Add in some syatic nerve problems (when you lose feeling down your legs) and other disc problems it was just bad news.

I went to prep school for one year after HS, in the New England tournament I went up for a dunk w. two hands and got undercut and took a nasty spill and that's what did me in. I guess the shape of my spine (the way I was born) is the biggest problem, but the fall is what triggererd all the issues. Never could recover, even 5 years later I still have problems.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about that. I see they give a grading system, where do you fit in there? I know you play ball now, do you have to wear something?

Everything is going good for me right now. I'm trying to balance my checkbook right now. Some how I made a mistake but thankfully I found it and I'm almost through. Man, finances suck. Other than that I'm waiting on Saturday. Bama goes to Miss. St. Hopefully we can dominate early and set the tone. I thought about going up there but I think I'm just gonna hang at the house. I'm looking to buy a new guitar right now. $500-$800 range. Between class, work, and everything else in between, my life is full. OS Chat was awesome last night. We had 12 people in there at one point. I think we've all decided to have an "Official OS Chat" on Wednesdays, starting at 8:00 P.M. ET. Steve if you could post something on the front page about it, that'd be great. Anyways, I'll write more later, but for now, it's back to the world of finances.
