the official xbox site still has the system shipping with a harddrive.

if that's true the 100 bucks is worth it for a HD, wireless controller, headset, and remote control

Actually, it's official. IGN is doing a live update throughout the convention, and it was announced not to long ago.

I agree its worth it, but why not have them all come with a hardrive and pay 50 more for the other stuff?

it may be worth $100, but games will suffer since HDD wont be standard.

this is not the way i wanted to start my day off.

You got to read that fine print under the spec sheet on Xbox.com...

I agree 100%. After dumping my ps2 and being exclusively Xbox, no way I would go back to a system with no hard drive.

With no standard hard drive, Microsoft just put itself in the same compromised position as the Playstation hardware. What good is a hard drive that no-one will code for, since it's not standard?

I've been rethinking my 360 purchase, and this news might just seal the deal. This is pretty disappointing.

I'm in the same boat fossen. If nothing else, it's going to make me wait to see what Sony has to offer.

Its hearing news like this that just burns me,you know, I know and they know it can put together in a packaged that make sense, instead these guys are strickly business and looking to make some kind of profit by having you to comeback or fork out the dough, not me brother, something like this makes my XBOX look like the device of the century with all the features it has compared to this no HDD, oh wait HDD if you pay more for this blah, blah, blah crap...I'm thinking this is not as good a thing as once thought and I'm in no way gonna let my XBOX go for this half-baked scheme of a product...maybe in a year or whenever the bugs and features get straighten out for now this deal sucks IMO.

Playing with the peoples heads like this could backfire (I've seen it happen) and these guy could pay for it bigtime if this system doesn't deleiver like you know..."Walks on water" and make you forget for what you paid for it you could be putting a down payment on a car or house after its all been said and done...I'm gonna wait trust me I can do this and keep my money until this thing makes sense.

My XBOX looks and plays just fine so I'm not really worried about getting a XBOX 360 just yet I'll just wait and see but this I definately don't like and don't think is worth the money after getting everything and more from my trusty XBOX and XBOX LIVE account.

Holla Back y'all

Disappointing, but I will still be picking up the XBox 360. I am sure that they will include everything for $299 when the PS3 ships, but those of us who can't wait will have to ponnie up the additional $100. I am sure MS will throw us some type of bone like a free game or something (even if it is like tetris or something).

Edit...

After actually reading the article, this isn't that bad at all. They are including HD cables and a remote. That is at least a $50 value right there. I am sure that Sony will make you pay extra for every little thing that they can. I hope I am wrong because I would like to have both systems and I don't want to wait for either of them. I want them as soon as they are available.
