- NCAA to Prohibit Player Likenesses in Games?
"College sports titles already don't include player names, but if the NCAA has its way, future games won't have player likenesses either. According to an article on ESPN.com, the NCAA is expected to sponsor a legislation that would prohibit an institution, conference, or the NCAA themselves from using the name or likeness of a student athlete on a variety of merchandising, including games like EA'sNCAA Football series and 2K Sports' College Hoops franchise. Provided the proposal gets advanced by the Division I Management Council this summer, it would go for a final vote next July."
- Ubisoft, AND1 Team Up For New Basketball Game
"Ubisoft announced this afternoon that they have signed their second exclusive licensing deal under their new sports label, this time with the renowned streetball brand AND 1. Best known for AND1 Mixtape Tour and Streetball series on ESPN, along with football and apparel, it's a safe bet to say that this deal will only bring more exposure to the growing brand. So fans get ready, because The Professor, Spyda, AO and Main Event are coming to your consoles."
