If a fraction of these allegations are proven to be true by the NCAA, then it's highly probably that this program will be hit worse than any program in the history of the NCAA that is not named SMU. I know that gets thrown around every time something like this comes up, but we're in an era where we'll never see the death penalty again, and with SMU being a repeat violator as well as having a board meeting to agree to continue the payments after being hit hard by the NCAA the first time, I'd imagine that this will effectively be the new "death penalty" type punishment.

Miami is about to get the death penalty... I think this deserves it's own thread...

Won't happen. They aren't in the repeat violator window, and I don't think the NCAA has the balls to do it again after what happened to SMU.

Yeah, I don't see how they can avoid the most major punishment in NCAA history (outside of the DP) if these facts check out.

You guys sure picked the right year to buy a title. Between OSU and Miami, the NCAA doesn't have time to worry about one inelibigle player.

Oh, I agree, that was hyperbole. But it will be a de-facto DP, and I still think it deserves its own thread.

If the violations happened over an eight-year period like Shapiro claims, then yes, they were in that window.

What would make Miami even eligible for the death penalty is that if the NCAA looks the other way from the statute of limitations, because if there is a culture of this going on, then yes, the NCAA has full right to ignore the statute of limitations.

They don't need to look the other way. The NCAA found Miami guilty of major violations in 2003 involving the baseball team. If these things occurred between 2002 and 2010, they fall smack in the middle of the five-year "repeat violator" window. Game over, man. Game over.

Couldn't have happened to a better president. What a fucking clown.

Miami = thug U and cheater U. At least when they were the real thug U they won.

If the NCAA doesn't give Haith a Show Cause, and Miami the worst possible penalty next to the Death Penalty, well that'd be a bigger joke than what they did to USC or Ohio State.
