2K has posted their first Ringside Report featuring the new WarGames match type for WWE 2K23. While there are plenty of WWE 2K23 videos available the developers have taken the time to post some of the details that you might have missed.
The team introduces the WarGames match for the first time in a video game, allowing players to participate in 3v3 or 4v4 multiplayer matches. The match starts with two Superstars in the ring and the rest of the team members are kept in separate cages. At specific intervals, team members will be released and enter the ring until all members have entered, after which WarGames officially begins. The WarGames match can be won by pinfall, submission or throwing the opponent off the cage.
WarGames can be played in three venues, including NXT TakeOver, Survivor Series and a venue specific to MyRise. Below are some bullet points from the latest Ringside Report. Make sure to head over to read the full details.
- Match setup options:
- Randomize team advantage
- Assign team advantage to specific side
- Players can use WWE Superstars, Legends, or created wrestlers for men’s and women’s matches
- Customization options:
- Confining wins to pinfalls, submissions or both
- Entrance intervals can be customized in 30-second increments
- Default interval is 90 seconds, can range from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
- Once a match begins, players control the chosen Superstar
- If Superstar is in a holding cage, players can:
- Let the AI play until it’s their turn to join the match
- Quickly swap control of team Superstar by using the View button on Xbox or Touchpad on PlayStation controllers, without going into the Pause menu.

- WarGames can be played in local multiplayer:
- Up to 4 players on Steam and PlayStation
- Up to 6 players on Xbox
- Players can play on the same team or be split into teams
