Ever since Microsoft introduced a new dashboard update at the end of 2011, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition has been locking up manygamers'Xbox 360s.
The opening "press start" screen is committing the foul. On Fire Edition starts up fine until gamers hit the initial loading screen, but when activated, it sends the Xbox 360 into a permanent freeze.
Once you experience this freeze for the first time, it's not something that continues to happen every now and then -- it happens 100 percent of the time, every time you try to start NBA Jam, making On Fire Edition literally unplayable.
Clearing the Xbox 360's cache and redowloading the game still do nothing to solve On Fire Edition's freezing issues. Currently, deleting your save file and starting over with a brand new save is the only way to "unfreeze" your copy of the game.
For Jam fans, the prospect of losing all Road Trip progress and unlockable secret characters stings like a shot swatted back into the face, especially with gamers already steaming over the lack of promised "roster updates" from EA Sports.
So, quick show of hands: how many Xbox 360 people on Operation Sports still have a working copy of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition?
