Touche.

However, I am a huge Hogan mark (even though I cheered against him as a kid, yeah I'm pretty ****ed up!) and would never even think about voting for him as the best wrestler. Even though the criteria was never fully explained, I guess I would choose actual in-ring ability as the first thing to consider because at the end of the day you can be the best mic worker in the world but if you can't put on a show in the ring then I don't give a **** about your match. Now, both The Rock and Hogan were great at telling a story in the ring, but as far as actual pure wrestling ability goes, even the indies are chock full of guys who outclass them in that regard.

Never even heard of him. How do some of you find out about the international stars? I have trouble just catching Ring of Honor.

I am fortunate enough to have been friends with a guy who was crazy about Japanese wrestling back in the late 90s and he would always buy and trade bootleg VHS tapes of all the classic stuff through the mail. He was the one that turned me on to Misawa and Kobashi and I was hooked. You could ever get the versions with English subtitles to go along with the promos and the commentary too. Legendary!

Just check out any of his matches against Kobashi and you are in for a hell of a treat, my friend.

Start here:

Re: Who's the best Wrestler of all time

Great footage! Ah yes the great 90's and getting the international wrestling tapes. My friend has a lot of them. Thank goodness for dvd's now, it stinks when the VHS tape wears out.

Misawa was awesome! What got me hooked was seeing the Japan stars in the JCP nwa. Was he the Tigermask that teamed with Baba in the first JCP memorial cup?

Your are right about Hogan, people need to see his early 80's japan stuff he did lot more in the ring than he did here in the states.

I have gotten a lot of stuff from Highspot wrestling, for those who want to check out some great international wrestling.

Thanks for the footage!

Seriously, Misawa vs Kobashi triple crown match in 1997, best match of all-time. Misawa is wrestling, but its hard to not give a nod to Jumbo as well.

No trolling?
Based on the criteria that Santino said IMO Both Rock and Hogan make up 2/3 of that criteria. Even though I believe Rock was under rated when it came to his in ring ability he certainly was not better than SCSA/HBK/Flair. As for Hogan, he had average in ring ability as a Top Draw.

If I had to add international stars I would put Misawa and Mutoh right up there.

Yea, Jumbo was great.

Jumbo had some great classic matches with Flair as well.

Two more international guys that deserve recognition are Kawada (if you've never seen 6/3/94, watch it) and arguably the best cruiser anyone has ever seen, Jushin Liger.
