After extensive review, this trade is declined for the following reasons:

1. Blockbuster Trade: too many big name players involved.
a. Rookie of the Year QB with a favorable low salary is being traded for aging QB with an extremely high salary.

2. The age of the players are heavily favoring one side of the trade.
a. Perception is that one team is receiving a bright future, while the other is forced into a position to succeed and win NOW.



Bottom Line: The Broncos don't seem to be in a desperate need for an old QB, older LT, and mediocre RB for "short yardage". When they already possess in their roster without a trade:

1.) A great future QB that will carry the Broncos for remainder of this years franchise and would ultimately be a great 1-2 punch with Tim Tebow.

2.) An elite LT,OVR;96, AGE;26, POT;A

3.) Another future star (FB), Daquan Armstrong (FB): OVR;89, AGE;23, POT;A that will equally do a great job of getting those "short yards" as Pierre Thomas.



Recommendation: The Saints have to determine what they want. Either the young Rookie of the Year or the Elite LT. An example of a counter offer could be:

1. Saints, next season 1st round pick for QB Newcomer.

or

2. Saints, next season 1st round pick and Jermon Bushrod (LT) for Ryan Clady (LT).
