Impact goes live starting May 31st

Looks like it's just for the Summer but it'll probably go full time if the ratings go up.

Re: Impact goes live starting May 31st

TNA announced their own version of a Hall of Fame last night, very surprised that they would only being around 10 years.

Re: Impact goes live starting May 31st

Finally got to watch the show, had other things to do. But looking at the ratings, everyone else did too.

-Roode vs Sting-
Pretty good match that went about 15 minutes. Sting looked alright for his age but Roode was kinda off, like he didn't want to be there. Then to hear that they will main event the ppv? No one wants to see that. I think it should be Storm.

-Bully Ray segment-
Bully is sick on the mic and he knows how to work the crowd. Might be the 2nd best heel in the game.

-Austin Aries vs Chris Sabin-
Was happy to see Sabin get some air time since Shelley is gone. Nice match but too short. AA sprayed water on Samoa Joe backstage and it I hope that leads to the 2 of them in the ring one day.

-Dixie Carter/Brooke Hogan segment-
Garbage, garbage, garbage! Total waste of time and money. Should have had a Knockout match here. 10 years in and you want a HOF?? Just don't make Hogan the 1st one please.

-Devon vs Jeff Hardy-
Another short match. I just hate Devon as the champ.
I did like the backstage walk they gave Jeff on his way to the ring. They should do it more.

-Gutcheck-
You give that clown last month a contract but you say no to Joey Ryan??
I hope that was a work that he did with Taz.

-AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels-
They did what they usually do when they are in the ring. Very good match. When Kaz and Angle ran in, I was waiting for Teddy Long to come out and make it a tag team match.

Nice way to end the show with Dixie telling them to shut it down.

Good overall feel to the show but they need to step it up with more actual wrestling.

On the bad side, the show got a 0.89 which is ouch. Then I just read that Sabin is leaving is August. What is happening to this show?

AJ/Angle vs Daniels/Kazarian was one hell of a match last night.

Easily the match of the night. Fairly surprised the belts changed hands

Re: Impact goes live starting May 31st

I gave it a chance tonight and haven't really watched in a long time.

Ultimate X was disapointing. Just don't do it like they used to.
At first I was intrigued with this Aries thing but afterwards realized how stupid it is.
You've got the longest reigning HW champ and longest reigning X division champ. The X division champ forefits his title for a shot at the HW champ. Then James Storm comes back. So now Aries loses the X title for nothing or they lose Storm beating Roode for the title in a year long build up. Hopefully they'll figure that out in the next week and Aries will decline.

Why did Bully Ray knock over Penn Jillette's table? Where was Teller? Why was Penn there anyway?

Who's face and heel? Roode is heel but everyone else got cheered except Hernandez when he dove on Devon. Did they just do away with the face/heel thing?

Sad to see Styles and Daniels in this silly Dixie story. With talent like that you don't need stories.

Hopefully the Sting attack goes somewhere intresting.

Re: Impact goes live starting May 31st

I thought it was a very good Impact this week. Only saw Hogan once and no Garet. A win-win for everybody!

I think the Ultimate X got finished early because of Sabin's injury. TNA might believe that AA is ready for the main event so why not give him a shot? Destination X is next month and BFG isn't until October so AA can actually win the world title and they can somehow let Roode win it back in time for Storm to fight him at BFG.

Also with the DX ppv, they can start a tournament for the x title if he gives it up.

Bully Ray is the best heel in the business right now.

Didn't see the attack on Sting coming. At first I was thinking, please don't be Hall and Nash but they moved too quick. This might get interesting.

I only caught the 2nd half, so didn't get to see the Ultimate-X match. Sounds like I didn't miss too much there.

I agree with you on Bully Ray, he's been golden on the mic the past half year and is playing the heel role better than anyone right now.

I'm just happy they ended the show with that beatdown, I think almost every show should end that way. It should leave you with questions so you tune in next week for answers. I think that's what WCW did so well when they were on top. They also did this a few weeks ago when Dixie was pretty much telling them to go off air.

I wish the x-division and tag team divisions could get back to the TNA level, until that happens, TNA will still only be an occasional watch instead of must see TV.

That was actually the best Impact in a long time

I get striking while the iron is hot (in this case, Aries)...but what's the point in giving him a reign now when the clear focus is Roode vs. Storm? Losing would just kill Roode's momentum, even with regaining the title. TNA has a history of waiting too long to pull the trigger (see Samoa Joe) so I don't want to see them miss out when their fans are clearly getting behind Aries...but TNA also has a history of having no focus. Now they have one in Roode vs. Storm so they should follow through because people are also behind James Storm. Roode holding the title for almost a year, to lose it to James Storm makes more sense than Robert Roode dropping to Aries, winning it back, and losing to Storm. Same end result but I think it really hurts Roode if he were to lose it before BFG.

Couldn't agree more.
