Rumor: EA Sports Season Pass Floated; Could Provide Big Savings

Smashpad has the scoop.

Quote:
"We’ve received a tip from an unnamed source that a rumored potential deal may be in the works between EA and GameStop to offer consumers a special deal called the EA Sports Season Pass. Originating from a survey regarding the purchases of sports games, a particular image was sent to us about this deal offering consumers the chance to pay $20 upfront and receive the privilege to save 33% off of many of the upcoming EA Sports games when purchased new, which would almost pay off the price of the Season Pass with just one purchase."

Well considering that I buy

NCAA Football
NCAA Basketball
Nascar
NHL
Madden
Live

This would save me about $100 after the $20 startup.

At that price I would consider buying some EA Sports products that have been a bit too pricey to buy on a whim, such as Tiger, NBA Live, Nascar, and NHL. I'll probably already buy NCAA Football and either Madden or HC '10 (if there was one), so it makes sense.

Why did MIA's "Paper Planes" enter my head when I read this?

I've bought Madden and NCAA every year since 2003. This is great news.

Hmmm...this could be a real good investment. I already buy NCAA and NHL every year and will probably buy Madden next year (I think it will be good), so this could save me some money. And if EA's NCAA Bball game gets good, just another good deal.

That's likely the goal and I'm sure their study group came up with a high percentage of similar responses or else they wouldn't start with the 33% off number or relatively low membership fee.
