Uhhhhh, you acquire something to use their properties, not MDK them. EA wouldn't kill GTA, that wouldn't make sense...Same goes for BioShock. The sports games, who knows.

PS Rockstar will be a free agent soon after GTA IV releases, so regardless of a merger or not I still believe they would be able to take their ball and go home if they so please.

Standard Oil was a monopoly, this is not. You have to stop people from making sports games, EA is not forcing people to stop making sports games. Essentially you can buy most anything but you can't make it so others can't make a sports game...Now EA might get the handle on authentic sports games, but others can still make them.

At least that is how I perceive it to be.

Yea I think it is important to remember that this buyout was proposed and rejected by the leader of the board of directors at TT. This is John Riccitiello putting pressure on Strauss Zelnick now by allowing the rest of the board and shareholders to see this. If he's strong in his resolve and clear with why he didn't accept then TT will continue to live on another day.

And plus even after we don't know what would happen with the sports games.

How would they ruin the series when they still have the same developers. The teams at Bioware, Rockstar, and Irrational will still be the same. EA will only be publishing those games probably giving them a better push in the media.

2K acquired the Irrational guys last year for Bioshock and nothing with the team changed at all. I'm pretty sure EA will keep all those developers intact.

I agree the sports games would be gone, but EA wouldn't change around anything with hit games like GTA, Mass Effect, and Bioshock.

If they were offering that low of a bid per share, and having that be higher than the close of business like they said TT cant be all that strong right now. they must be in the red, or losing a lot of money.

as for the whole panic setting in over NO MORE MLB THE SHOW... i dont see that happening. first off sony is a first party title and EA is a third party company. if they did strike a deal for exclusivity it would only affect any other third party complay and well thieir wouldnt be any if EA gets TT ribht?

another thing, when was the last year sony ever made a football game before EA got their contract with the NFL which expires after 09 for hose of you thta dont know and i heard on game trailers tv in and interview with the head of EA that the nfl is rumored to want to make their own game and kick ea out.. .but that is juust speculation

i feel that sony and scea are complately safe on any level on this...
