That's not exactly a clear cut denial of interest in selling.
It'd be silly to categorically deny it. If EA was willing to offer $50 bucks a share (just a random number), you're damn sure they'd be ready to sell. It's not smart business practice to speak in absolutes.

I understand that. I was pointing out that your apparent assertion that 2k fans had nothing to worry about is premature at best.

Hardcore sports gamers make up a very small percentage of the sports gaming population.

You are absolutely correct about the downfall. That is why EA would not make two games of the exact same genre.
There are quality games that are always overlooked. Ico immediately comes to mind. So quality doesn't equal sales. Madden sales about the same every year whether it is really good or not, the only thing to motivate them to make the Game better would be to have some type of competition.

It is no coincidence that both Baseball and Football titles have gone down in quality since the exclusive deals.

But I am saying it would not be the first time a Company would encourage 'internal competition' to make the product better. EA could split the distribution and do something about the saleries to cut cost then I don't see no reason why they couldn't do it.

I don't see EA doing it at all if they did buy T2. I was just throwing it out there.

So, it looks like EA will need to offer 2.5-3 Billion, if they are serious about getting Take-Two.

Despite how the EA apologists try to spin it, as a sports gamer, I KNOW that this deal would not be good for having choices in sports games. Unless, by choice, you mean being able to buy EA games, or nothing at all.

It amazes me how some sports fans, who thrill to seeing two teams play a great game and really push each other to play better, could feel that seeing one company eliminate competition will make for better games.

This really would suck for the sports division.....one company could benefit from a EA buyout, would be SONY. If EA lets the talent go to waste ( can't see them supporting NBA Live and NBA 2K) after this year releases. I can see SONY picking up people to work on their NBA game and any other titles they might have except Baseball.

PLEASE DONT BE FOOLED. TTWO WILL NOT SELL TO EA FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT THEY KNOW THAT THEY GOT EA SPORTS SCARED AND THAT'S WHY EA IS TRYING TO BUY THEM OUT. EA CHAIRMAN SAID LAST YEAR THAT THEY WILL TRY TO DESTROY TTWO AND NOW THEY WANT THEM TO BE A PART OF THEM. EA CAN FREAKING KICK ROCKS.

It's a darn shame how a company tries to eliminated the competition so they can force us to buy garbage. EA is feeling the heat the NBA live series is garbage, everyone is complaining about Fight Night etc. Competition makes better games. If EA buys 2K we should band together and stop buying thier games,
