CCL refs are atrocious. We still managed to score 2 short handed goals en route to a 5-2 beating over Metapan in our first match. On to Puerto Rico ......

CCL refs are horrible. The Central American teams are hard to watch as well. They diving and rolling around "injured" is just part of their game, all game long. Hard to watch.

Good to see RSL get a result. With the new format, you really can't have any setbacks.

we send out a pure reserve squad and roll over Puerto Rico 4-0. Revenge is sweet. Knockout stages looking good for us.

Re: 2012/13 CONCACAF Champions League

I know that Copa Libertadores invites a couple of Mexican squads to the tournament, but I think a combination of Copa Libertadores with the Concacaf Champions league would be way more entertaining. I mean the LA Galaxy just pounded a 2nd tier soccer club that shouldn't even be playing under a tournamnent named "Champions league."

This is definitely a dream that might never happen but Copa Libertadores should include clubs from the US, Mexico, and Canada while the Central American and Caribbean teams play in their own tournament since those teams don't compare to the Mexican and US teams. I know there's a talent gap between Mexican/US teams and South American teams but that would make the Mexican/US teams better. Having the likes of Neymar and Ronaldinho making their way to the States/Mexico would be great for getting fans in stadiums and building a league that can rival the UEFA Champions league (in terms of fandom and popularity, obviously not in talent.) Also, I bet many South Americans wouldn't mind getting a glimpse at Beckham.

That would be awesome. But the travel would be killer. Imagine the 30+ hour round trip flight. All in a 3/4 day period.

Re: 2012/13 CONCACAF Champions League

there was actually some slight talk about inviting some MLS clubs to the libertadores. With the MLS salary cap structure, roster restrictions, and huge travel times it just wouldn't allow MLS clubs to field a competitive squad.

Re: 2012/13 CONCACAF Champions League

Was a tough game to watch last night. Happy with the 3-1 win, but atmosphere was terrible. They might have had 60 people in the crowd, the grass was closer to an Elementary School recess game, and the reffing was terrible.

But, 3-1 win and we only need one more point in two games to wrap up the group.
