Re: Euro 2012

Not only do I want Germany to win, but I firmly believe that they will.

However, Group B is insane with Germany, Netherlands and Portugal.

It's difficult to see past one of those three to win the Euros for sure. Personally I expect the Germans to win, on paper their team looks very exciting and their style of play since their 2004 debacle has been great to watch.

What interests me with the Dutch is how they will use both Huntelaar and RVP, will Huntelaar sit on the bench? If they go one up front will they move RVP out wide? They certainly have the firepower to win and a strong midfield but i'm not convinced about their back line.

The only thing I wonder with Spain is whether this may be one tournament too far for them, they still look strong but losing Puyol and especially Villa is a blow. Clearly they have the quality to win but i think they might just come up short this time.

As for England, I don't even fancy us to get out of the group stages.

Re: Euro 2012

Rooting for Poland, would be fantastic if they got out of the group stages. Lewandowski will have to carry a lot of the load.

As far as my favorite, it's Germany. I think Holland will be a disappointment while Spain is out of gas. No Villa is also a huge loss.

Re: Euro 2012

I think France is poised for a little bounce-back from their horrific World Cup.

I'm rooting for the Poles, Dutch, and Swedes.

From the other thread after groups were drawn - I'm sticking with them:

Predictions (group winner listed first)

A: Russia, Greece
B: Germany, Netherlands
C: Italy, Croatia
D: Sweden, France

It is also worth noting that Euro 2016 will increase the teams in the final rounds from 16 to 24 with 16 advancing to the knockout stage. They are trying to cram all of the extra matches into the same time period. Oh UEFA.
