Signature Goals

A buddy and I were talking about how the great players all have signature goals in their careers, so we started compiling a list of them. I thought it was pretty cool on how many we agreed on.

Maradona- WC vs England
Messi- the maradona goal vs Getafe
Zidane-that left footed volley
Ronaldinho- Either Bicycle kick, or 2nd goal in the Madrid game ( he runs down left flank)
Zlatan- Ajax, all the little dummies in the box
Kaka- Champions league vs Man U
Beckham- WC qualifier vs Greece
Bergkamp-WC vs Argentina
Owen- WC vs Argentina
Figo- Wonder goal Vs England
Henry- the one where he pop the ball up then rips it from right outside the box (he runs across field for celebration)
Cantona- dips it over the keeper and just stares at crowd
Gerrard- Last second champions leage equalizer (dont remember vs who)
Benzema- spin move, then runs down left flank

Some we couldn't figure out
Ronaldo- jukes out keeper without ball
C. Ronaldo- Free kick vs Portsmouth (dips ball over wall) or free kick vs Lisbon (he blasts it from about 40 yds out)
F.Torres- Winning goal vs Germany in 08 Euro
Drogba-?
Van Nistletroy-?
Pele-?

That Drogba goal. Good god...

My submission, not because he was necessarily great, just because he's the player I most remember particular goals for.

FUn! I will be lazy for now and post vids later, I will also completely veer away from just goals because I'm taking a trip down memory lane.

Michael Owen - boy wonder in WC 98, most memorable for his Argentina performance (where Becks get sent off for the panzy Diego Simeone).

Gary Lineker - goal poacher, he was a more agile Alan Shearer

Shearer - signature rocket of a foot and great placement, hand up as if he's not worthy.

Chilavert - my favorite player, the goalkeeper who had 29 goals in a season for velez sarsfield, almost became the first keepr in WC history to score a goal. Had his chance when he hit the crossbar on a free kick, then Laurent Blanc ruined his hopes of a PK attempt when the Frenchman scored in double overtime (golden goal).

Dempsey - only American to score in 2006 WC, already bursting with passion before he even struck the shot.

Giggs - everyone knows his amazing run against Arsenal in the FA cup.

Asprilla - left Columbia national team as soon as he was subbed off the pitch in the 98 WC against England.

Vivian-Foe - his sudden death shocked us all, heart related.

Forgot to mention the RC free kick...nice. And i totally forgot about that bergkamp goal. I was referring to that dramatic goal in the WC against Arg. I think yours might be the one though. I think the commentary is what was so awesome about the WC goal.
