LOL...from the espn draft blog

John Brewin: Van Der Sar - goalie of the year supposedly - vacates the stage.

John Brewin: Pedro again. A special award for a player that has won the competition five times with the same club...who could it be?

5:23
John Brewin: Yes, no prizes for guessing it was Paolo Maldini, freshly retired and looking good on it.

5:25
John Brewin: He's been given a rather tasteless portrait by Michel Platini. That's going in the toilet. Standing ovation greets the great man, possibly not for the artwork.

It's amazing how year after year, Arsenal walks away with the easiest group. Man U's group will be interesting. Three tough places to go play. [Reply]

Which is a shame cause aside from him I do enjoy watching Arsenal play.

Did Drogba and Gerrard change leagues and me not know about it? [Reply]

Yikes, Liverpool and Lyon! The Scousers might be struggling domestically already but they always show up in Europe. I understimated Lyon last season in our group so, even though they've lost Benzema and Juninho, we'll probably need to take 4 points off them to have any chance of going through.

Group C is my group of death IMO, regardless of how the 3 former European champs have performed in the competition over the last few seasons. Looking forward to seeing Ibra and Kaka' returning to the former homes too of course. [Reply]

Matchday 1 begins today. I believe Manchester United/Besiktas is being show on Fox Sports Network. [Reply]

Matchday 1 is always the best. Both clubs go out 3pts.

My boys are on tape delay @ 5 following Man U. I will be avoiding this thread unless I can get a good live feed @ work. [Reply]

I wonder if Sturridge will get his chance with Drogba banned? More than likely though it will be Kalou, Anelka and Malouda in a front 3. [Reply]
