12 million would be a little disappointing to me if I were a Villa fan. Thats the same amount that they paid Chelsea for Bridge last year. And Barry is a lot better player than him. I would have pressed City for atleast 18 million.
Must not have been as big of market for Barry as we all thought.

Barry didn't have a good year and between that and him telling Villa he wasn't going to come back, this whole year long saga needed to have resolution.
Randy Learner isn't going to have any problems with money but 12 m is plenty for Barry.

United looking at Valencia, that would mean the end of Nani I'm sure.

Not necessarily. With Tevez likely on the way out, I don't see anyone that United could realistically go out and sign that would be willing to be 3rd choice. I thought Campbell would have gotten a chance if he made it through preseason, but it looks like he's being sold this summer.
I think what ends up happening is that United end up using Ronaldo as a striker more while sliding Valencia into the vacant wing position when Ronaldo plays up top.

IMHO, I would have thought Manchester United would be looking at a much better player than Luis Antonio Valencia.
