Football Manager 2009 Demo: Virtual Crack is Back

After a long, long wait, we all received something last week that was anticipated, certainly represented change, contained a little bit of the unknown, and yet we still need a bit of time to digest where it’s headed in the future. No, I’m not talking about the presidential election; I’m referring to the return of the Football Manager (known in North America as Worldwide Soccer Manager) series, and the release of the FM 2009 demo.

I'm loving the 3-D match mode. My wife will no longer mock me for getting excited at dots scoring goals. Now I just need to find a good training schedule, half of my first team is injured.

Really stoked for this, been leery about the 3D rendering as well, but I'm stoked now . . .

I have not played this game as of yet, but I have heard nothing but great things... How do I get this game in America?

Re: Football Manager 2009 Demo: Virtual Crack is Back

I didn't like the 09 demo at first, 3D was slow as hell, I was upset that they dumbed down the tactics, among other things, so I went back to 08 for a while.

I decided to give the demo another shot the other day. I turned off 3D, as that's not why I play this game, anyway, and WOW. There's no big improvements (why change something that works?), but there are countless little things that I still haven't discovered all of them.

I only have two words: Must Buy.
