Breaking News: Torres Commits to USA

There are believed to be 23 players, including three keepers. The USSF has been pursuing Torres, who turns 21 on Oct. 29, since last spring to compete for a roster spot on the Olympic squad. At the time, he declined. Torres, a left-footed player who is 5 feet 5 and 135 pounds, is a regular with Pachuca's first team and has started half of the Tuzos matches this season. He scored against Puebla. Pachuca will play at Necaxa this Saturday before Torres travels to Washington for U.S. training camp. "I was born in the U.S. and my dream was always to play for the U.S. national team," said Torres, whose father was born in Mexico and mother is originally from the States. Do you mean Rossi? he plays for Villareal in Spain. He's committed to Italy. As for Torres has anyone seen him play before? I've heard he's a great player this IS good news for the US

Rossi was on Italy's Olympic team, so he won't be suiting up for us unfortunately.

When I first looked at this thread I thought I was reading "Torres commits suicide." Second, I thought it was talking about Fernando Torres. Guess I was wrong about two things.
