Any plans for DTV to get soccer channels in HD?

I'm holding off on ordering the Sports Pack (which has all the soccer channels) because the games aren't in HD. Any plans the channels to release HD feeds?

It doesn't look all that promising...

While HD is coming eventually, it’s safe to say that FSC, which really has three homes — L.A. for admin, Winnipeg for the Report and Europe for most of its content, will have to go through more hoops than a normal network to make the move to HD.
Also, remember that while much of FSC’s matches come from Sky, the timetable for Europe to switch to all digital lasts until 2012.
So while it’s great to watch matches in HD (I actually missed the Community Shield for the U.S. Netherlands match), it’s going to be years, not months, before we get all of our football in high-def.

HD is really expensive for the satellite companies, it takes up a lot of space on their transponders vs regular programming. Soccer not being popular here in the US pretty much relegates it for years to come. Unless you come up with a way to build and launch satellites on the cheap.....

The beautiful game in standard definition is still better than most sports in HD.

Dunno about that, John!

After watching Euro and World Cups in HD, I can't watch standard def soccer anymore.

Agreed. After watching the Euro and CL in HD I feel like I'm watching blown up you tube videos on FSC.

It's funny about FSC. I watch on my Time-Warner and it looks great on my old analog Sharp. Now if I watch it on my HDTV it looks terrible. I normally just retire to the bedroom. But I don't understand one thing. BBC does telecasts in HD. How come they can't get those feeds? Maybe SKY doesn't do HD, yet. But when I see a match on ESPN HD I just want my footie in HD, so bad.......

I know Sky broadcasts in HD because whenever I turn on SkySports News, they always say a "game is on Skysports 1 and 1 HD" or something like that.

I think we're probably watching the same TW feed Brian. I agree it looks like crap on my Panasonic HDTV. I do think it looked much better on my little 19" TV I had before I went HD.

Do you also get the "Telephone Dialing" sound every once in awhile. I find the volume on FSC to be so low that I have to crank my TV, then I get a "Dialup" sound that about blows my ears away.

I too was spoiled by the EURO Championships in HD on ABC.

Yeah, a good TV shows the flaws more. Lots of SD things look worse on an HD set.

Still, FSC has always been extremely blurry and poor quality for me, on any TV. I can't even read the player numbers most of the time until they zoom in.

I'd love to get the EPL here in HD, but I know it is probably a long way off.
