Eddie Howe: The Quest To Become A Champion

Attempted back in March, I'm going to give this another go.
33 year old Eddie Howe is one of the brightest managerial lights in all of English football, a former defender who spent much of his career at Bournemouth, Howe had his career cut short by a debilitating knee injury which ended his playing career in the Summer of 2007.
By December 2008, Eddie had taken over as caretaker at Bournemouth, becoming the permanent Manager on January 19th, 2009. Over the next several months Howe quickly built up his blossoming reputation by overcoming a 17 point deficit to steer the club out of the relegation zone.
The next season proved even more successful as Howe somehow managed to earn promotion for Bournemouth despite a season long transfer embargo. Howe continued to work his magic at Bournemouth, building up a record of 51 wins, 18 draws, and 33 losses before finally leaving the club for Championship side Burnley in January of 2011.
Despite the challenges of taking over a club mid season, Howe was pretty successful in his first few months at Burnley, putting together two three game winning streaks on his way to a record of 9-6-7 while steering the club into a respectable 8th place finish, just seven points shy of a play-off position.
Of course, good results bring high expectations, and going into 2011-12, the Burnley board feel that Howe has the club to fight for promotion, and with that our story begins........

Re: Eddie Howe: The Quest To Become A Champion

As far as gameplay is concerned, I'll be using FIFA 12 on legendary(JD's sliders) with a legendary board. I will also be using Custom team tactics and formations for the Premier League, The Championship, League One, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Ligue One, big big thanks to Krebstar who headed up the CTT project.
Dynasty wise I'll go game by game with the emphasis leaning more towards the Manager rather than the club. If sacked, I will continue on with another club, preferably in England as the goal here is to become a Premier League Champion, but if need be I will accept a job outside of the UK.
On a personal note, I know it seems as if I start a dynasty and then shut it down rather quickly, but I promise you that's not my normal Modus operandi, it's just been a matter of bad luck and a few bad choices. As always any feedback is appreciated!

27th July, 2011

Signing Of Guberti Lone Bright Spot In Otherwise Quiet Preseason At Burnley

Burnley- Looking to bolster their midfield heading into the Championship season, Burnley gaffer Eddie Howe has signed 26 year old free agent attacking mid Stefano Guberti to a two year deal worth a reported £2,000 per week.
Guberti played in 36 games for relegation bound Serie A side Sampdoria last season, finding the net six times during the season. Once relegated however Guberti was released in a cost cutting measure.
While Guberti is the lone incoming player, Howe has loaned out three players as well, sending striker Domonic Knowles to Galway United, midfielder Steven Hewitt to Burton Albion, and striker Joe Jackson to Tranmere Rovers.
On the pitch, Burnley were winless in their preseason friendlies, drawing with Bundesliga sides Mainz(0-0) and Hertha Berlin(2-2) and losing to Ligue One club Montpellier(3-0). When asked about the upcoming campaign, Howe was very positive, saying: "Although the competition in the Championship is quite stiff, I really feel we have the club to earn automatic promotion, the only thing that can hold us back are injuries."

Good Luck. Does this mean your Schalke 04 CM is done?

For now, yes. I find it really hard to get into a league where I don't know the players that well, and although I gave it "the ol' college try" I just wasn't interested all that much, so rather than continue and hope for the best, I just sucked it up and moved on. The funny thing is I knew going in that it may be an issue, with the Bundesliga especially since it's the only league that I really don't follow, but I thought that if I did a dynasty it might get me more into the league, but unfortunately it didn't.

Round One

Burnley 1-1(3-4p) Doncaster

Clarets Bounced In First Round Of Carling Cup

Turf Moor- At home and expected to prevail, Burnley were stunned this night by lightly regarded Doncaster Rovers, who took the Clarets to penalties before winning the shootout out 3-4 on a strike by 23 year old defender George Friend.
The loss ends the hopes of a run in the Carling Cup after just one round, but also allows the club to focus more on winning promotion, which in the end is the much bigger prize.

Not only did I lose badly, I made a huge error when setting up the CM. Here's what happened, before I began, I took four hours to implement custom team tactics for all 5 big European leagues plus the Championship, League One, and League Two. I also implemented starting lineups for all Premier League teams BUT. BUT in order to use these in the CM you MUST choose the customized roster option in the setup, I chose download latest. Needless to say I'm not a happy boy. I may begin again I don't know, right now I just need a break....
