I just feel like Wilson's upside is soo much higher then Flynns. So I rather see him grow with the young team instead of Flynn. if Wilson's upside wasn't do obvious then Pete wouldn't even waste his time with a qb competition seeing as how Flynn was signed to be a starter. That's why I really like How Pete is handling this team. It's always an open competition an the best player will win.

Also I said I Didn't want to compare him to Kolb but really had no choice since he's easily the most recognizable/recent comparison. If I said I don't then I wouldn't have.

Agreed it will be a wait and see.

Well... That's Flynn's memorable thing for you.

I also remember him in December of 2010 taking the Packers to the very last drive against the Patriots where there could have been a win, save for a communication/experience error. That was a well played game for him.

Re: 2012 Training Camp/Preseason Thread

I'd like to think Flynn will be fine just for the sole fact that historically, our backup QBs have gone on to have some nice careers once we moved them/they left.

From Favre to Warner to Brooks to Brunell to Hasselbeck to Rodgers. That's not a bad track record as far as us developing QBs so I'd like to think people would give us the benefit of the doubt in this as well.

I just think both sides benefit if Flynn starts the regular season, Wilson gets time to learn and if Flynn does well you could just dump him for a pick after the season.

Being able to activate 1 player who begins the season on IR and a 2-week extension of the trade deadline officially not happening this season because the NFLPA would not approve them without concessions in other unrelated negotiations. Another report says the NFL tried to tie them to some kind of adjustment to in-season practices.

Any thoughts on Joe Haden being kicked out of practice yesterday for hit on rookie WR.

Shurmur refused to comment on the issue and told reporters to check Twitter if they want information.

Good to see Shurmur asserting his authority.

Re: 2012 Training Camp/Preseason Thread

Coach Pete Carroll's ego is going to get him fired - again. If he does lean toward third round draft pick Russ Wilson over expensive free agent Matt Flynn for week one it will likely signal his last season as Head Coach in Seattle (and perhaps the NFL).
