Re: What happened to the group hugs?

They should have let users have option of cutscenes(like other games have options for replays). Have it play always(meaning every time play stops), often(meaning majority of time play stops),sometimes(meaning maybe 1 in 3 chance of cutscene happening) or never.

And for online, let users from both teams skip through cutscenes. So if your opponent wants to watch a cutscene replay of their goal, the other user doesn't, they can just skip it.

Goal celebrations were just made great once NHL added custom music, but that lasted like a year and that was it I think.

The celebrations should have player celebration, team/group celebration, goalie reaction and replay.

Should take like 30-40 seconds, not the 15-20 we have now.

Little things like this matter.

Re: What happened to the group hugs?

The 10-15 seconds we have now amounts to only about 4 seconds of the player skating by his bench, giving high fives. The remainder of the time isn't a cut scene but a replay. Or replays I should say. It always shows two.

Presentation-wise I'm glad that post-whistle scrimmages are sped up this year. The players meandered too much with every stoppage of play.

The cutscenes will be better this year because their more contextual but they will get very repetitive like they do every year. In their NHL 12 form they slow down the game for me when I'm offline and want to play a few season games in one sitting.

Re: What happened to the group hugs?

I just wanna hug my teammates manually man, is that too much to ask?

If I score, I want to press a button to manually hug whichever player I want, that way I can always exclude that one a-hole on the ice who didn't contribute to the play lol.

lol, sounds weird, and complicated for them to add.

I can just imagine it though, score a goal, then skate right past one of your teammates, and the hug someone completely different.

This was in 11, along with the 3 stars as well...

Also, I don't know if this was in 12, but score an overtime winner and you get mobbed by your teammates. (cutscene, but still cool!)

I miss this too. And would really like to see it back.

And ya...I do like the group hug rather than the skate past the bench. We should know soon what, if any changes that were made to the goal celebrations, etc...

Re: What happened to the group hugs?

I made a similar post on the EA Sports NHL forum and one of the Game Changers commented that we would like the "real-time presentation."

That gives me some hope but at the same time... its almost a month away and we've seen VERY little in-game footage and the one goal I can find on NHL 13 that shows the goal celebration is EXACTLY like NHL 12. Parise scores and skates by the bench... super-lame.

Re: What happened to the group hugs?

EA has said that there are no new user-celebrations this year.
