Knicks Make Huge Moves Before Season Starts

The Amar'e/Melo days are over. Both have been packaged in multiple player deals and shipped out to new teams. This comes as a surprise to many Knicks fan who thought they would be the players to lead the team to new heights. SportsGamer2, new owner and GM of the team, had much different idea about the two. "I want to build something entirely different out here in New York. Something that I don't think Anthony or Stoudemire could be apart of."

First, they shipped Anthony off to Atlantic division foe Boston in order to receive both Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley. Only a few short hours later, Amar'e was sent packed to San Antonio. Our sources say they mainly wanted Dejuan Blair out of the deal, but the contracts couldn't mesh up. Eventually, Jeremy Lin was added, as well several other players, to pick him up. Both Bonner and Splitter were soon released in order to pick up point guard Aaron Brooks off free agency, who will get some tutoring from current starter Jason Kidd.

With this trade, it gives the Knicks some more youth and speed, primarily from Avery Bradley. The Celtics get a solid small forward to take over at that position once Paul Pierce retires. It is believed that Anthony will take over at the power forward position, while Garnett starts at the center. The Spurs may have gained another huge back court with Stoudemire and Duncan. Jeremy Lin may also start once Tony Parker retires. With these deals already beginning, many NBA fans are excited for this season and the trade deadline.

After a 7-59 season, the Bobcats are making efforts to make sure that their record improves. This is a very good sign for Charlotte fans, as it shows that their manager is not just content with attempting to rebuild through the draft. Sure, the trades were with some of the lower teams of the league, but they proved to the fans that they were wanted to start winning as soon as possible. One of the most surprising moves, though, came with the trading of D.J. Augustin. While he was a tremendous sixth man in Charlotte, the Bobcats no longer wanted to pay his contract. With Augustin's departure from the team, Kemba Walker has solidified his position as starter.

Only two players remain of the original starting five that the Bobcats had listed before starting the season. Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist seem to be the men the Bobcats want leading the team into the future. These trades build around these two key players. Still, these are not the huge trades needed to make this team a threatening one. They will likely still have trouble in their own division, but things are certainly looking up for this young team. If they continue to draft correctly and make the right transactions, this team may just be in the playoffs in only a few short years.

And, hey, you can't get much worst than what they did last year.
