Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

So when I play again later I think I'll tone down Interceptions a fair bit. The CPU does seem to Fumble quite a lot but then again so do I so maybe I'll tone these down for both. Aside from that I want to give their QBs more protection from sacks, and maybe lower mines accuracy a little more. Hopefully these changes will lead to closer games/me losing a few. I'm finding running tough, rarely getting anything going until late in the game, so I'll keep that as it is. The CPU seems to run at me for fun though easily getting over 100 yards per game (mostly 200, or whatever) so I'll keep that how it is and try and improve my own ability to defend against it!

C Alex Mack 2011 stats 1 pancake 1 sack started out a 91 is now the same no lost or gain in progression.

RG Shawn Lauvao 2011 stats 0 pancakes 2 sacks started out a 77 is now a 83 gained 6 points for progression.

RT Mitchell Schwartz 2011 stats 0 pancakes 2 sacks started out an 78 is now a 84 6 points progression.

now the funny thing is some of my back up olineman never played 1 snap all season long but yet gained progression

like my back up RT Dominic Alford who is 3rd string on depth chart who started out a 70 some how gained 4 points in progression for not even playing a snap all yr long.

so if the progression is based off of pancakes my Oline shouldnt of progressed @ all because i only had 2 just looking @ my back ups LG Ryan Miller had 1 and 3 sacks and he went from a 78 to 84 as well so another 6 point boost.
Okay, this is messed up. I'm going to figure out which attribute, if any, makes the game register pancakes. I'm going to start with the impact blocking and then move to a combination of impact blocking and run block footwork, which designates your player's ability to stay locked on once engaged.

I thought impact blocking had a direct correlation w/ pancake blocks.

I drafted a SS w/ 95 spd, 83, zcv, and 90 pow. Only in the 60's ovr and C potential. His prc and pur absolutely suck. I'm talking in the 30's and 50's. How would you guys use him?

I use a lot of zone on defense. I controlled him the first game and he led the team in solo tackles and almost had a couple picks.

Didn't know that. If it's a simple 1-1 correlation then I'm definitely going to find the breaking point where you start getting reasonable pancake stats within the ratings spread for impact blocking.

With your S I'd do one of two things. First, I might let him sit and play ST for a year. He's bound to be a force there and will definitely cause fumbles on KR and create fair catches on PR because he closes so fast.

Or I'd start him and user him the whole time. If you ever turn him loose to CPU control, I'd make sure he's in a blue flat zone so he can't screw a play up too bad if he gets fooled. That way there's always other defenders around him to help out.

Age is also a factor. Were the guys that went up young?

Pancakes matter more when the player can start going down.

It was going good, but D'eangelo Williams just disappeared. He's on my roster, but I can't play as him, even in practice mode. But I can play as every other starter.

Also, my brother is under the cap big time, so what can he do to fix it?

It might, but it doesn't change the fact that the stat is broken. You can get them and often times they won't show up in the stat report and thus not on your player's stats.

If you control the player, PRC and PUR won't matter much, if at all.

If you don't, I'd use him on special teams. He might get down the field fast with that speed and force fumbles with that POW. I might also consider switching him to OLB and use him as a pass rushing LB. I did that with Taylor Mays and he was pretty solid in that role and wasn't awful, for a LB, in coverage. I keep the LBs in zone a lot and his ZCV was about the same as your guys.

I might also use him on KR if he's one of the faster non-starters on my team (I don't like using starters on S.T. because of my fatigue setting - would tire them out too much).

Actually, isn't there one? I was thinking of moving over there at one point.

Edit: Correction, there is a Football only section - Madden and NCAA ones are there. It's the Dynasty HQ forum.

Man, you guys reply fast I didn't even think about trying him at LB. I planned on usering him as a starter at SS. But I like the idea of using him some at LB. Like a nickel/dime LB. Thanks.
