I've played nine or ten games in my season now, and haven't seen an ejection. Please tell me you can get ejected in ways other than purposely beaning batters.

Typically a good manager gets himself tossed to save a player from being tossed. As a umpire its common knowledge you toss the manager if he comes out to save his player. There are a few hotheads, pinella, cox that just like to get tossed regardless. It should be an option to send the manager out to intervien to save a player from being tossed.

It is in 2012. I've seen it happen and the manager was pretty heated. Kept waiting for him to get tossed but it didn't happen.

Cool Re: Manager arguments in MLB 12?

I wish there was a player controlled argument split screen in the game.

It was in MVP 05, don't see why it couldn't be in the next version.

On a close play at first when the runners called out and u see him jumping up and down mad they sometimes eject the runner after a cut scene comes with the runner arguing...happened all the time in recent yrs games but not once for me this year as of yet in 45 chise games

I think it's pretty safe to say that most people want this. It's a big part of the game you see on TV every day, so it should be in the game.

Re: Manager arguments in MLB 12?

For me, it wasn't an aspect of MVP that "made the game" for me, but it was an interesting feature to have. Although some people see it as superficial, I think the real adventure to the feature was balancing the benefit of an argument against the potential pitfalls. In some cases a well timed argument boosted team morale, in others it was detrimental. One had to be very careful as to how important it was to argue the call.

And, the part I liked most, was that should you manage to get your manager ejected, you actually lost control of substitutions for the remainder of the game (i.e., pinch hitting and relief pitchers). For me, I want control over those decisions, but if my team needed a real boost, maybe I am willing to give up that control and try to boost morale in order to for my team to get the initiative to claw back into an important divisional match up.

If it involved ejections and subsequent loss of managerial control, I'm not sure I would want arguments to be completely at the discretion of the CPU logic. I would definitely want some input into when they argue, or if they argue vehemently enough to be ejected.

For what it's worth, I know on one called strike out I got mad and threw my hands up, and when I grabbed the controller I accidentally pressed triangle (I think that was the argument button). I know in real baseball arguing balls and strikes is a no-no, so I was worried as my manager came out. I made sure not to press the button again and didn't fill up the meter at all. As soon as my guy got to the home plate ump, he got tossed. Oh well, if it's in the game...
