Game #1 @ Wolverhampton

Crystal Palace had a tough draw to start the 2012 campaign with a trip to newly relegated side Wolverhampton.

Crystal Palace came out aggressive early and got behind the Wolves defense, but struggled to break through.

The Eagles found a break at the 35th minute mark when a questionable foul called against the Wolves led to a PK. The penalty was saved however and no blood was spilled.

The match changed in the 41st minutes when Gardner tried to clear the ball wide of the net but scored an own goal instead. The Wolves took the momentum and the game 3-1 after that moment.

Scannell gets ready to take the shot that proves to be the game winner.

Crystal Palace comes back to defeat Blackpool 3-2 in Week 2's Npower Championship match.

Blackpool scored in the 12th minute on a penalty kick from a questionable call. "It was terrible. It was a dive and the official fell for it," said Crystal Palace manager Greg McLean.

Blackpool would get a free kick from just outside the box in the 31st minute and converted it into a goal as well.

Crystal Palace FW Sean Scannell made a great run into open space in the 81st minute to blast home a goal into the corner of the net. The goal would turn out to be the 3-2 winner.

Murray slams home his second PK

Crystal Palace defeated Middlesbrough 2-1 off of two Murray penalty kicks.

The Eagles took an early lead 6 minutes into the game after Ambrose was fouled in the box. Murray took advantage and put the Eagles up 1-0.

Middlesbrough came right back with a goal in the 9th minute.

Middlesbrough was the aggressor the whole game. Crystal Palace was on their heels until a turnover saw Scannell with a run into the box where he was fouled before he could get a shot. Murray put home another PK for the 2-1 victory.

Scannell fires home the winning goal

Crystal Palace dominated the possession in their home match against Petersbrough. The Eagles held the ball for 60% of the match in their 1-0 victory over Petersbrough.

"We had the ball quite often today. We saw some great chances that we need to start finishing, but I'll take the W," said striker Murray following the game.

Scannell was finally able to get Crystal Palace on the board with a goal in the 56th minute.

In other news, Crystal Palace drew Premier League side West Ham United in the next round of the Carling Cup.

West Ham had a flurry of 3 goals in a matter of 12 minutes to finish the first half of play.

"We played some of the younger guys today. It's shown my we have to get more depth. I was really disappointed that we only had 3 shots," manager Greg McLean said.
