The game is going to be the largest racing game of all time basically. And they built it from the ground up. Everything is all new, not carried over like in other racing series.

Physics engine, graphics engine, etc, all built from the ground up. Game development, especially when making a simulator, and with more powerful hardware takes time.

The man in charge is also a huge passionate person. And wants it as close to perfection as you can get. Of course that is all subjective, but regardless.

It does not matter anymore, since it is out in less than 2 weeks. And we only had to wait 4 years for the PS3 version, so that is not bad in the grand scheme of things.

well, to be honset, in my personal opinion it is too long of a wait. Obviosuly since i already bought it i'm in regardless, but one of the big reasons i bought a PS3 was for GT and MLB. I just hope this game blows my socks off a lot more than the video posted in this thread.

There is not a single sim racing game out there that will get you amp'ed watching someone else play.

Burnout yes, sim racing ... NO!

So is November 24th the correct date most folks think it will really come out? I ask because I checked last week and it said Dec. 31st I thought and now I see on Amazon it says Nov. 24th....

It's out in some hands now. Ebay sellers have it.

But anyways. Cockpit view is the way to go since PGR on the 360 and should be used in sim-racers anyhow. But that is my opinion.
I race in the cockpit view myself. I played GT 5 last night. The cockpit view seems to take a slight frame rate hit. Albeit slight. I think the cars look incredible but the tracks are bland. I like the racing in the rain effect. I did come away from it underwhelmed though. I don't see anything that would make me wanna buy it unless you are a fan of Sim style racing. Oh yea one more thing Forza destroys this in the sound department. For a game that is in 7.1 sounded pretty weak coming out of my sound system.

I read you can't disable the HUD or parts of it. I hope this gets patched in, because it's so cluttered.
