That just comes down to the types of deals both companies have. Had 2K negotiated total exclusivity instead of just third-party, we'd all be stuck...

If I remember from deleting the aforementioned MLB 09 patch; you just delete the game's file in "Game Data Utility". Those are the files that are installed to the hard drive when you first boot up...

No company discusses patch details until they're pretty much set in stone and pass through testing. Nobody wants to list possible patch inclusions and then, if a problem arises, not have them come in...

Pass/run commit was actually debated and voted on in a poll posted by Ian months and months ago. The voting ended up being in favor of removing it; so they took it out.
