I checked and they threw it 24 times (a lot for a GT team), but I watched the game last year too and I didn't walk away feeling that Georgia Tech was on even footing with LSU.

What? Georgia Tech had two turnovers, granted, but LSU won by THIRTY FIVE points and only gave up 3. That means that Georgia Tech didn't score on 8 of it's possessions and either punted or turned...

Absolutely...and it could be argued that Carpenter actually outpitched Lincecum in the first half. I'm not disagreeing that Lincecum was a good choice...I'm just saying it's not the slam dunk...

Look, I'm into sabermetrics as much as anyone...I completely agree that victories are a poor way to evaluate a pitcher. I don't think this guy's point, however, is too far off...a good argument can...

At this point in the season the game I can't for the life of me understand is how NC State beat Pitt...they have to be kicking themselves for that one.

Hmmm...I think Uggla is the better offensive player. Phillips, however, is much better defensively and is a year younger. Honestly, Uggla is a 1B/3B in waiting...at that point his numbers will lose...

It's funny because I feel that UF matches up perfectly with Texas. I like how UF's defense matches up against Texas' offense...it would be interesting to see how UF would do against Texas defense.

I think being shorter/smaller at the younger ages works to ones advantage. I was always one of the shorter guys in the youth leagues and I played with dudes who were already 6'. Then you hit high...
