Re: Dana white says eventually Fedor will be here

And Dana doesn't have a history of making BS predictions. /sarcasm

His word means nothing.

Re: Rickson Gracie: "It Would Take Me Longer To Submit Fedor Than Lesnar"

You need to watch Bob Sapp vs. Nogueira.

Re: Baseballs biggest problem isn't drugs. Its this. Seriously.

Also known as "pulling a Manny".

I definitely think this has some truth to it.

Re: Baseballs biggest problem isn't drugs. Its this. Seriously.

All true.

I can understand people wanting them to stay around, but they literally serve zero purpose now and they make players uncomfortable.

There have been a lot of baseball evolutions for...

Re: Baseballs biggest problem isn't drugs. Its this. Seriously.

I'm young. I have never understood stirrups, even when I played. Stirrups felt weird and added another layer.

I'll be honest. Towards the end of my baseball playing days I wore ankle socks...

Re: Pedro Martinez: The Best Ever?

I honestly think so.

His 2000 season was absolutely unbelievable. In the middle of the most offensive period in baseball history, just look at the numbers. 1.74 ERA, 0.737 WHIP. Absolutely...

Re: Name players that you think were clean during the steroid era

None.

If they weren't taking them to get huge, they were taking them to recover. There might have been one or two that abstained for health issues or whatever, but good luck finding that needle in...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

Barely a .300 hitter?

Albert Pujols had just 12 infield hits last year, meaning even if you take those away he would have still hit .334.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals: Detroit Red Wings vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Couldn't agree more. I'm neutral in this series, but it seems like every word coming out of Pierre McGuire that of a Red Wings fan. Whether it's justifying a call for the wings, endlessly praising...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

I can accept this argument. It occurred to me when I first posted about this.

But this all started because steelcurtain said I was on drugs for believing Ichiro's batting average is .260 if you...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

Are you saying Ichiro's infield hits would contribute less to his average if he had less at bats?

Say he is slow, he doesn't bat leadoff, and gets less at bats.

Based on his past performance in...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

There's nothing wrong with infield hits for a slap hitting speedster. But a "pure hitter" does not have to rely on speed to get hits. Ichiro's ability to put a ball on the ground and take off is...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

You realize a batting average is a percentage of hits per at bats, right?

If he got less at bats he would get less hits. A .258 hitter is a .258 hitter, whether they get...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

Ichiro has averaged 49.75 infield hits a season.

Ichiro has averaged 682.3 at bats a season.
Ichiro has averaged 225.6 hits a season.

So, assuming he is too slow to beat out his typical...

Re: Who is the best pure hitter in the league?

Ichiro to me is by far the most overrated "pure hitter".

When 1/4 to 1/5 of all your hits come from infield hits, you aren't a pure hitter. Take away his ability to beat out those weak grounders,...

Re: The 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Khabibulin did outplay Osgood today IMO, and still let up 4 goals. There were NO routine saves today in the 40+ shots he faced.

Re: MLB 09 "Road To The Show" thread

I have a RTTS question.

In The Show 08, I noticed that if you had a pitcher and, for example, maxed out all his curveball stats (specifically break) that the pitch was not nearly as good and was...

Re: Athletics (Track and Field) Events Thread

Not sure how much validity this has, but the ex-sprinter color commentator said he guessed Bolt was likely running at 30 mph.
