Why No Love for NBA 09???

I think this game will actually be good this year...They improved their player models from last year, and they obviously look more like themselves. I know, I know that Kobe screenshot makes his body look way to big for his head, but if you watch this: http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/14254..._gameplay.html Kobe's body doesn't look like that. Most of the players if not all look like themselves and KG looks incredibly real IMO.

You can also tell they got rid of the clippiness that plagued the game last year as they have implemented the Havok engine. It also has The Life mode which I think is pretty interesting. Not to mention they actually have a franchise mode this year and it even has the D-League! NBA Replay is in there again and I think that's pretty cool too how you have to make shots from the exact spot on the floor it happens in real life. In the preview it said something about progression with your created player and how you can put him online. If you haven't read it you can here: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/890/890339p1.html

Listen, I hated this game last year, and every year before that just as much as most of you do, but I have to admit I'm pretty excited about this game this year. Don't tell me I'm the only one...

Unfortunately NBA 09 The Inside, has been put in the state of Missouri, or as they used to say in early 80's hip hop time to "show and prove. I heard good things about the game that is making strides to becoming a sim. So NBA 09 is climbing Mt. Everest.

exactly...

i hated this game with a passion last year, but this year looks like they've turned it around a bit and it should be a solid game....

It's all because sony's keeping this attitude of "We're publishing a b-ball title and there's nothing you can do about it". They don't stop to think "Is this game going anywhere? Do people consider it as a fair competitor? Are our standards fit the market's?"...No, they don't stop and think.
Sony, please take a year off and create a brand new game.

They're not far away from being a competitor actually.Better player models and Bam they're in the game.Animations looks solid, they have nice features, the best shooting mechanic, and if they get the basics down somewhat decent it could be a suprise hit next season and help Sony out alot

Re: Why No Love for NBA 09???

I rented it last year, it was decent but IMO not worth buying.
I do believe that this game will eventually be as good as the 2k series.
NBA 09 would have to put as much effort into the gameplay and presentation as say the MLB the show series.
I believe that NBA 09 has some good features already, which its competitors have slowly implemented.

They are making strides, and if The Show is any indication of what they are capable of, then this title could be competitive sooner than later. They have a huge hill to climb, but are almost on par with EA lackluster efforts with Live IMO. None the less, more comp means better video game balling for all of us.

the guy named Mother who works for SCEA basically said he knows they are playing catch-up with this game. I think they should be as good as Live this year even without the "DNA" stuff EA is doing.
