I'm a little dissappointed about something missing from FRANCHISE MODE

As deep as this great game is, I was somewhat disappointed after I completed my first season and started my 2nd season to find that the game doesnt really keep a history of your previous year's stats, records, standings, leaders, playoff and world series scores, etc.

Unless Im simply missing something here its almost as if the game treats the next season as just an entirely seperate single season mode. I was expecting to be able to create a sense of HISTORY that I could look back on over the years to see how my franchise had evolved over the years. It would be cool to be able to go into a HISTORY section in your Franchise and look up any season and look at the team stats, league leaders, final standings, Playoff Tree boxscores and World Series winners, ect.

I apologize if this IS indeed actually in the game somwhere and I am just missing it. Otherwise, Im quite surprised, even Madden has this. This is a game that is so deep and realistic that it reall needs this Historical Franchise data from season to season.

i agree there needs to be more stats and history since baseball is a stats and history game more then any other sport.

Yea, I agree with the OP. I hope they do something like ASB 2005. Remember how it kept track of virtually everything? You could see how many batting titles you've won, how many All-stars you've had over the years, how many gold gloves, mvp's, silver slugger, cy youngs, etc. That was truly amazing and a feature like this is sorely needed. A very underrated feature in franchise mode.

Yeah All Star was fantastic in regards to how much historical data it kept track of throughout your franchise! Yeah, this is a disappointing aspect of the game for me since I am a big time Franchise nut. I dont care about any other game mode except franchise and one of the aspects of a real franchise mode for me is the ability to build historical data from season to season that you can look back on after a few seasons and simply enjoy the history you've created in your virtual baseball world

My idea would be to have a separate section in your Franchise Interface called History that has a Baseball Almanac style screen that lets you select different sections to look up like Records, Season Stats, Standings, Boxscores, Playoff Stats, Playoff Tree, World Series Champs, Season Award winners, League Leaders, notable milestones, achievements all viewable in a neat and easy to sort thru menu from any past season you've played.


To me, this is very important

Much of the stuff you're bringing up and newer posters are bringing up has been discussed months ago just after release and during the regular season.

The door has been closed on wish list things for quite awhile. The SCEA team chose what they would be doing to the game (game plan) and started production. Things that are still being posted in the "wish list" thread are redundant as most have already been discussed, but the wish list thread remained open so newer posters could get in their two cents, however the door is closed.

Another little thing I noticed, when you start your second season in franchise the opening day logo on the field still reads 2009 when it should be 2010.

As far as stats go I wish they could be kept like the back of a baseball card, with year by year stats as well as any other teams the player was on, even the minors.

I would absolutely be in Heaven if The Show had recorded history and stats thru the seasons. To me, THATS what a real Franchise mode is all about

Theres a game called Out of the Park Baseball which is a text sim game and it does a wonderful job of doing exactly what your describing.
