I'm just wondering if anyone has ever considered dynamic/constantly changing ratings. Like ratings that change based on performance in certain counts, or runner situations. for example, say you are just absolutely raking with a guy like Colby Rasmus with two strikes against you and runners in scoring position, but normally he is a little above average power hitter but get his outs a fair amount of the time, but when you come up in that situation his ratings would increase (or decrease in some situations) and give you a better (or worse) chance of getting that needed base knock. I just noticed that even during the game after each pitch, the pitchers Pitch Bars seem to change based on results of the previous pitch...for example if a pitcher K's someone with his CHange Up, His CHange Up bar seems to increase on the screen for the next pitch....its really interesting how these go up and down during the game.

I never actually realized this until last night and Ive been playing this game for a few years now!

LOL....Or maybe Im just seeing things! [Reply]

I think it's a good idea. My concern though is that it would have too great an affect on hitting, in the same way confidence has too great an affect on pitching. IMO, the programming problem occurs when these changes to ratings take place in-game. What I would prefer to see is a system whereby rating boosts/penalties are applied to hitters and pitchers after they've had a particularly good/bad game. [Reply]
