ugh...draining, but brilliant, game with my braves.
penultimate game before the all star break at coors.
up 2 in the first. solo homer in the second. rockies score 1 in the 3rd. I tack on 1 in the 4th, 5th and 6th. Rockies homer on a change up below the knees for 2 runs in the 7th. I score 3 in the 8th. Rockies hit another homer on a change up below the knees (i mean, literally, out of the strike zone low). give up a double and get out of the game with a a hard hit groundout to escobar up the middle.
by the end of this 9 inning game. 31 hits (they out-hit me 16-15!), 14 runs, 3 hrs, 6 doubles, i drew 7 walks, between us we used 11 pitchers. They're starter went down injured with none out in the 2nd and Chipper went out with an injury after a dive at 3rd.
took me just over an hour to play and i'm shattered. I need a lie down!

Ok, just started up a series against the Texas Rangers and two of their starters are on the DL (can't remember which ones) and the first game of this series they have Derrick Turnbow starting. :-)
I'm curious as to why they didn't just call up one of their Minor League starters.

another great game! i know we're not supposed to do day by day, but technically this was two 5 days later (all star break!) so it's ok, right!!?:-)
ok, mets at home. they go up 2 against hanson and i can't hit Oli Perez, finally get two in the 4th and another in the 5th, they get a sac fly in the 6th and in the 8th to go up 4-3 (i escaped bases loaded 0-outs with only giving up 1 run!!!) then K-rod comes in, first pitch, double down the left field line by escky, second pitch, chipper grounds to second, escky to 3rd, 4th pitch, mccann grounds throught the drawn in infield for his 3rd rinbie of the day, thome strikes out, matt diaz gets a 3-2 fast ball, with mcann going and drops it over a diving francouer onto the right field wall for a game winning rbi double!
K-rod blown save, loss. acosta picked up the win for the third of an inning he pitched and i got my only two extra base hits in the 9th! big big win!
thanks for indulging me. i just had to tell some people who might actually care!

Ok so i played 3 games of the Subway Series in my Franchise and all 3 games have been close. The first game was Santana vs Burnett and the mets won 1-0. The second game i had CC going for me and the Yankees got the win 3-2 on a Derek Jeter RBI single in the 10th inning at Shea. CC had a complete game shutout going and got 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th when Reyes singled on a 2-2 count. Castillo followed that up with a 2 run HR to tie the game at 2. Thank God Jeter came through for me as this would have been a tough loss to swallow.
Game 3 I went with Ben Sheets ( I signed him after Pettite got injured at the end of Augs) and he went up against Pelfrey at Yankees stadium. I ended up winning the game 5 to 3
Yankees lead the series 2-1 with 2 more games left at Yankees stadium.

My Nats pounded on Cliff Lee early and beat the Phils 7-4. Had to get out of a bases loaded jam after giving up two runs in the 9th. Livan Hernandez threw his sinker down and pitched 7 solid innings.
Yup. Thinking about going with Wang or Joba in game 4 to face Oliver Perez. I want to have AJ and CC rested in case I loose Game 4. Plus I will have to face Santana in Game 5 so I want to have my best up against him.
