Opened my 2010 season with three in Tampa Bay. Left there with a 1-2 record. Not the kind of start I was hoping for. I won the opener, then lost the next two....Lackey was the winning pitcher in that first game, then Carmona and Sheets lost the next two.

I'm trying something different, assisted fielding, using the right stick after reading how to do it here. Boy, do I stink, lol.

Simple grounders going for base hits. I may just go back to auto fielding;my reflexes aren't what they used to be.

Next series, in Cleveland against Detroit. (3 games)... [Reply]

May worked out a little better for me than April. Ended up 17-10 for the month with a nice 9 game winning streak in the middle. The mets and their newly stacked line-up look to be the head of the East. They're sitting at 32-17 and 7.5 games ahead of me. Good news, I'm only 3.0 out of the Wild card.

Yankee news - Matt Holliday, who was scorching hot to start the year (35 gms .401 16 HR) had a shoulder tear and was put on the 60-day. Jorge had a torn finger lingament and was also put on the 60-day (Bengie Molina stepped in for him).

I am still playing in my 2009 franchise season. I play as my hometown the BRAVES. I am currently on a three game win streak. I am at the beginning of May, the record sits at 13-15. I am in 4th place 4 GB of the Nats.

I made a couple of trades. I noticed the BoSox put Lester on the trade block. So gave up Vasquez for Lester. I dominating in pitching stats in ML. 2nd with 3.05 ERA, 89RA 2nd, 85 ERuns 2nd and 3rd in saves with 12. If can only hit better I would winning.

All in all loving this product as usual. [Reply]

- Needless to say, I'm winding things down in my season. I've played every game and have had a blast. So many ups and downs the entire year. Injuries have really hurt me at times. Furcal is out right now and should return for the playoffs (assuming I make it, and second time he's been injured for an extended amount of time this season). Just got Ben Sheets back (who I signed because my pitching was simply terrible early on).

- I traded Clayton Kershaw to the Marlins mid-season for Anibal Sanchez. The Marlins were going nowhere, and were clearly looking to dump him. I know Kershaw is young, but I could get nothing going with him. So now, Sanchez is 14-2, and is battling for the Cy Young. I'll take that trade-off. That's the only important move I've made.

- Manny has been awesome this year, and James Loney is probably the biggest surprise. Loney has had so many clutch hits this season. Also, Kris Brassard has been huge off the bench in pinch hitting and playing third base occasionally. For some reason, I can really hit the ball well with him.

- The last few weeks have been bizarre. I played two series with the D'Backs in the last ten games, and split with them, so I didn't lose any ground. The D'Backs still have a 4.5 game lead in the wild card, so I'm not worried about missing the playoffs, I'm just worried about winning the division. But while I played well with the D'Backs, the two bottom teams in the West (Giants and Padres) have managed to get the upper hand against me. The Padres took two of three, and the Giants are looking to take two of three in my next game.

- But then things should be ok. Though 10 of my last 12 are on the road, 13 of the final 19 are against the bottom feeders of each NL division (Nationals, Pirates, Padres). Hopefully I can clinch the West here in a week or two.

- The Cubs are one game behind me in the race for the best overall in the NL. If I finish ahead of them, I'll play the Mets in the first NLDS, as they are five games ahead of the Phillies.....with a .500 record.

- My biggest concern heading into the final weeks is my pitching. I've been hitting the ball well the last few weeks (though I still hit into way too many double plays to end innings), but my pitching is a cause for concern. Sanchez and Jason Schmidt are the only two reliable guys at this point, as I've moved Kuroda to the bullpen (he's terrible) and Wolf, Billingsley, and Sheets are iffy.

I'll keep updating every series or so from here on out, as I can't explain just how awesome this game is. Every game is a challenge, and I can already tell that I'll be fully stressed out every single game of the playoffs.

Sweet...what sliders and roster set are you using? [Reply]

I finished at 16-19. Lost the last game to Boston 2-0 in 10 innings. Beccasue of Maine's 6 scorless innings, he will break camp and head north. That game was make or break for him. If he had failed, Ollie Perez or Tobi Stoner would have made the trip to CitiField.

The new additions to the 25 man roster:

Aroldis Chapman-SP
(made three starts in the spring, finished with a 3.29 ERA. Went 5 innings and gave up only one run in his last start vs. Boston. He walked none and struck out 2 in a 6-1 Mets win)

Chris Carter-1B/OF
Gary Sheffield-RF/LF
(back for one more year, mainly starting against lefties):-)

The surprise moves:

Daniel Murphy-1B/LF
(sent to AAA; Chris Carter has a lot more power, and my Mets need as much power as possible)

Nelson Figueroa-SP (made the roster as my number 5 starter)

Pat Misch-LRP (had a sub 2.00 ERA this spring)

Josh Thole-C/1B (sent to AAA; didn't hit this spring at all)

The guys to watch in the minors:

Jason DuBois-1B/OF (AAA)
Ike Davis-1B/RF (AAA)
Fernando Martinez-CF/OF (AAA)

I'm going with 11 pitchers in order to keep Anderson Hernandez on the roster

Opening night is a 7:05 start at CitiField against the Phillies. Johan Santana vs. Cole Hammels.

The Tigers have one of their own young flame-throwers going for them...Alfredo Figaro (3-1; 4.24)

OF/DH Gary Sheffield will also be making his 2010 Spring Training debut, after being out all Spring Training with contractual issues (LOL).:-) He's hoping he can stay healthy and provide more power for the Mets in 2010.:-)

Damn, what a start, 3-0 Mets bottom of the first. Hammels has thrown 22 pitches so far--I love it.

Reyes led off with a hard single up the middle that was j-u-s-t out of the reach and to the left of a diving Jimmy Rollins.

Castillo sacrificed him to 2nd (5-3)

Wright drove a Hamels sweeping curve literally to the 408' sign in center. Victorino went back, jumped at the wall and missed the ball and it kicked back out past the warning track and onto the grass. Reyes scored after holding up at second, and Wright went in with a triple.

Delgado grounded out 5-3, driving in Wright. The score was 2-0.
Beltran struck out swinging, but the ball kicked off of Ruiz and towards the Mets dugout. Beltran was on at first.

Sheffield took a Hamels changeup and drove it towards the left field corner. Ibanez, who was shifted closer to the 379' mark out in left, than towards the line, ran towards the corner, dove and missed the ball. That ball kicked back out towards shallow left-center, and Sheffield who never stopped running, slid into 3rd with an RBI triple. 3-0 Mets. I'm lovin this!

Back to The Show!

Recently started up a franchise with the Rockies, using the end of the regular season roster update.

Went 2-1 in the opening series at Arizona.

Lineup looks like this:

1. Fowler, CF
2. Gonzalez, LF
3. Helton, 1B
4. Tulowitzki, SS
5. Stewart/Atkins, 3B
6. Hawpe/Spilborghs, RF
7. Barmes, 2B
8. Iannetta, C
9. Pitcher

Rotation:
1. Jimenez
2. Cook
3. Marquis
4. De La Rosa
5. Hamels

Closer:
Street

I'm playing on All-Star difficulty with pretty much everything at default except for pitch speed (zero, my timing is terrible), fielder speed (1), CPU Strike Frequency (zero) and Relief Pitcher Fatigue (1). [Reply]

I honestly can't remember on the roster set. I started this thing towards the end of May, so I can't even remember who I got them from.

As for the sliders, I'm using my own. I play on All-Star and I've tweaked some things here and there. Also, keep in mind that this is the first year I've played the Show (bought a PS3 just for this). I don't use guess pitch or anything like that, and I only use the X button for all my swings, and have no trouble hitting homers or anything like that.

On user, I went +2 on starter and reliever stamina, and +1 on pitcher control and consistency. On CPU, I went -1 on fouls, and -2 on solid hits. On global, I went +3 on fielder reaction. That's all I've changed, and every single game is different. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

And an update on my franchise. I officially clinched the playoffs with eight games remaining! Now I'm 5.5 games up on the D'Backs with seven to play, so I should be wrapping up the NL West crown shortly. I'm a little unsure as to who I'll play in the playoffs, but it's looking like the Mets.

I'm one game away from sweeping the four game set with the Pirates (as I just handed them their 100th loss of the year), and then it's six to go, three vs. SD, and three vs. COL. I'm basically just working some people into the lineup these last few games so I can get a sense of who to use in pinch-hit spots and things like that come playoff time. I'm giving the bullpen a lot of work as well, as it's still one of my weak spots.

I'll update again come playoff time! [Reply]
