I've never really played RTTS until tonight and I must say its pretty interesting. However, before I devote too much time to it I'd like to know just a few things.
#1. Are there any game-killing bugs that I need to be aware of? I remember there was something early on but it was fixed via a patch, right?
#2. Do I need to focus on my achievement goals primarily? I started a RTTS as a pitcher and find it annoying that my goals include things live improving reaction time and fielding percentage. I'd much rather concentrate on making my pitcher better at throwing his pitches.
#3. (Probably most important to me). Shoud my pitcher be terrible at first (is this normal)? I went all the way through spring training and ended up with a 6-something ERA. I chalked this up to the fact that I was playing against teams like the Yankees and the Rays. However, once my season began I signed a contract to play with the Pirates AA team. So far in 8 innings pitched I have given up 15 hits! WTF!? I lead the league in strikeouts and have the fewest hits given up on my franchise but with my pitcheron RTTS he gives up hit, after hit, after hit. What gives? Is it just because he does not have the attributes? Again, the one thing I can do well on this game is pitch. And this is unusual for me coming from franchise mode.
#1. RttS should be fine when started up after installing the patch. So no there arenīt as dīfar as I know.
#2. Achievement goals are very important. The coach bases his decisions whether to promote/demote you on your Achievement goals. Although completing 2/3 of them is enough to please him.
#3. I think itīs just the game telling you that there is a long road ahead of you! Complete your goals first and then put some points into things you want to improve on. You should get better with time passing.

It honestly feels like the game has two seperate game engines as far as the pitcher/batter interface. On franchise and RTTS I play with the same sliders. On franchise the CPU has trouble getting hits off of me on RTTS I have trouble not giving up 2 hits per inning. Right now I'm averaging more than 2 hits per inning. I'm just wondering why that is. The level of competition is the same if you compare RTTS and franchise. In franchise I'm playing against major leaguer's with major leaguer's. In RTTS I'm playing against AA batters but it feels like I'm battling Ted Williams every at-bat. Its very frustrating.

Oh, I meant to ask this, too. Should I bother putting points into things like H/9 Innings and K/9 Innings? Or is this stuff only importatnt for simulated stats?

Don't you play on legend mode? Thought I read somewhere you did, and if you do, for RTTS at least at the beginning you might want to start down a notch while your dude....sucks...LOL.
#1: No bugs, unless the craptacular fielding qualifies :-)
#2: Only do the majority of them (ie 2/2, 2/3, 3/5, 4/6), and do them every other session, or even every 3rd session if you want too. Just don't fail 3 in a row.
#3: On All-Star, I usually end the season with my guy in AA with a sub 2 ERA and a sub 1 WHIP, with a K/9 ratio about 7.5. Not sure what level you play on.
First, I'd get my main fastball up. Doesn't need to go 102, but 93-95 would be good for AA. Then, work on stamina. Get it to at least 90. Attributes are important. BB/9 helps you locate. K/9 supposedly helps you swing & miss (I can't tell much of a difference). H/9 is less contact. PCLT seems to help when runners are in scoring position, but you don't need to really focus on that until AAA.

Right now I'm playing on All-Star. I play with PsychoBulk's sliders. Should I return them to default?

This changing of the camera distance is REALLY annoying. WTF!?

Plate Vision
Plate Disc.
Do those matter much when creating a player since I control him? Or do they help with some aspect of the game?

Running the bases is so frustrating for me. Sometime back is forward and forward is back!:-)[Reply]
